He still hasn't made up for his 08 and 09 playoffs
He's playing great but the playoffs is where you earn your check
"I think even Jefferson would admit Ginobili is the better player"
think?![]()

true
and he finally after a first half puck decided he better have a decent second half to have money to feed his family
Give him 4 years 27 mil guaranteed.
Robin isn't better than Batman (but in our case he gets paid better.)![]()
not without a under the tabe "no national team play" clause.
other then that, give batman his money before he ends up a net, knick, or worse laker. you know kobe would cream to play with one of the few whose game he respects.
Too many teams with too much money this summer. Lebron and Wade will re-sign with their teams and Manu will get big $$$ and kiss the Spurs good night. Book it.
Again Jefferson s us
THE number one prioroty is signing Manu of course but we have to move Jefferson for that.
You guys are crazy Manu should get at least 3 years 36 but Im guessing 3 for $45 is the starting point.
He is palying great I love Joe Johnson but if he gets a MAX deal ...im guessing MAnu gets at LEAST half that ...because he is the BETTER more proven player and play-maker. Joe is just the better pure shooter and younger.
You put Manu on Ny or Phoenix his numbers would skyrocket ....
its more about the years than it is money to manu. he wants 4 years.
4 years/40 mil
Assuming he plays like this through the playoffs, the only big question mark that will affect his Spurs contract is his summer play.
No way he can play FIBA and give a full NBA regular season (which for Manu is only 70 games.) IMO only way that works is if you give Manu the first 30-40 games off which kills Timmy (again) and Tony and wrecks our playoff position.
The ironic thing is the better he plays right now, the more 'en led' he'll feel to play summer ball w/o remorse (much like Tony last year, "Nah, I am young.") I have very little confidence he'll come back healthy after the World's and if he doesn't break down then IMO it will be during the regular season.
Only way Spurs safeguard themselves from this scenario is if Spurs offer less so they can throw money at another shooting guard to carry the load when he inevitably goes down. I don't think Manu will accept that much less money, and Spurs may not accept the risk. I am prepared to lose our right now best scorer. I think it sucks, but we are not a big city/deep pocket team and have to protect our bottom line while giving ourselves the best chance to win. Of course if he rests I can see the Spurs giving him a nice contract
PS: another complicating factor is Splitter. I'm pretty sure he wants to play with the best Euroleaguer ever. anxiety tension offseason
Manu in a Laker uniform is sacrilegious. He wants to finish here so make it happen RCB.
Manuel (Costa Rica)
Well Manu Ginobili's certainly raised his stock lately. Do you think he stays with the Spurs? What kind fo deal could await him this summer?
Chris Sheridan (3:38 PM)
I know he would like to stay with the Spurs, but he signed at a discount last time he did a contract, and this is going to be his last big money deal. I could see Miami making a run at him and Boozer if they'd each take deals starting around $11-12 mill, and the Heat could add a third guy in that salary range if they lose Wade. Not sure the Spurs would go that high given Manu's injury history.

I think Spurs could bargain with the length. As most teams will only offer Manu 2-3 years. Spurs would have to offer 5+ years contract to have a chance IMO
This is gonna be a huge Summer for the Spurs and fans, in reguards to signing Manu. IMO Manu won't ask for max money, but he won't be lowballed either
As great as he is, and as much money as he deserves, there will be some stupid team, desperate to show they are in "the game" after being rejected by Wade and Lebron who will make Manu just a sick offer. One that Spurs can't match. And it will be a major temptation for him. We'd be smarter doing a full press to never let him be a free agent and sign him before July 1.
He's always been the least paid of the Big 3. If he leaves, there's no filling the void he'll leave behind.
He will be making less than 15M per season for sure.
It is time for him to retire..
Win or lose it is time...
Manu def deserves max money. 3 yrs/96 with player option after 2nd yr
LOL 90 mil???
is this for real???
