No way, that will make a bunch of games decided purely on luck with 4pt heaves at the end. At least a 3pt shot takes some skill and is guarded well.
Actually, I can see teams hiring a full-time 4-point shot specialist.. and there would be skill involved, not only luck. O remember a long time ago like in the late '60s IIRC there was a team sposored by Milo called the Milo All-Stars.. sort of a low-rent Harlem Globetrotters that came to Manila and challenged the top local Amateur teams.. that was way before they had a 3-point line and they had one specialist who would take these really long shots like 30-40 footers and he actually made a number of them..

Why not play with two balls at the same time? Like some of the people do here.

I've always thought it would be interesting to add more pts per distance. Why do you get 1 mote point for stepping beyond the 3pt line but there is no increase in points from there? Add 4pts to shots behind the half court line, 5 pts inside your own 3 pt line

I second the JVG idea. People love heaving half court shots all the time, whether they're regular Joes like us or pro athletes. How many of them get into half court shooting contest during shootarounds?

They could even make a contest out of it at the arena. If a guy hits a half court shot to tie the game one fan becomes an instant winner.
