Hows this guard stable for next year: Manu, Parker, Hill and Temple.
I like it!
Uh, even with this dreadful 1-6 night beyond the arc, he's still shooting 43.4% from long. He does better spotting up and catch'n'shooting. He doesn't do as well creating his own 3 pointer, which is what he was doing tonight. He's pretty much money from the corner.

Temple fits the mold of a hard working Spurs player, to me his biggest drawback is when playing against teams that know how to lure him into contact. That's something that he'll get with experience, but he doesn't have to worry much about it now since he'll be 3rd string PG.
LOVING how the young guys like Hill/Temple/Ian/Blair didn't give a who they were playing, they played hard and without fear. I don't see any reason not to keep these guys on our roster...thank goodness RMJ won't be stealing anyone's minutes next season.
Mel; Westphal said they wanted to retain him though he chose to come to the Spurs instead. So that'd make ONLY the rockets as the ones that cut him.
All he really needs to do is work on his three point shooting. If he became a legit three point shooter, he'd be a nice threat off the bench behind Tony.
jesus christ. this is mensah-bonsu all over again. again. you guys have to find the next big superstar everytime we sign a d leaguer so you can say youre smarter than the coach and about a flawed young player not getting minutes. you guys are re ed. seriously you guys dont know about basketball. you guys, im going home.
Thanks, didn't know that.
Gee also chose the Spurs over the Wizards, even though that meant going back to Austin instead of starting in the NBA.
Speaks well of the Spurs organization.
And you wonder why you're pinked?
i was pinked for not showing support for the war in iraq.
I'm sure posts like this will help you get your privileges back.
Mensah-Bonsu, James Gist, Anthony Tolliver, Ian Mahinmi, Malik Hairston, etc. - every young Spurs player that shows some ability will either be overated or underated by Spurs fans, but the unjustified cynicism of would be talent scouts is definitely increasing as our big 3 gets older. I recall last year many posters here discounting Hill's ability and potential and he was a 1st round pick. If you can get past your fat nose in the air regarding young players, you'll see that Temple seems to have something that none of the "Mensah-Bonsu" prospects have had - confidence and balance.
James White!
If you're posting on Spurstalk at 10:12 p.m. and you're not home. . .where the are you exactly??
If I were Pop, I would give all of Mason's post-season minutes to Temple...
Temple is fearless....he better get some PT
Better prospect than Marcus Williams, Jack McClinton and even Nando de Colo.
Love the confidence, swagger, and versatility. He's everything Spurs had hoped from the Lute Olson's Sean Elliott comparison ( Marcus Williams).
Has quick feet, long arms, and above average lateral movement. Has the physical assets to become a damn good defender. Mentally he has some strides to hurdle over defensively.( More film room and repe ion on the court could be the medication.)
Offensively needs more moves from the triple threat position, rather than going left just about every time off a jab step or a pump fake from a kick-out off penetration. Shooting needs to become more consistent but looks promising. Needs to develop mid-range game
Better prospect than Marcus Williams, Jack McClinton and even Nando de Colo.
A summer with Chip could do wonders and could ultimately even make Tony Parker expendable ( Yes I went there.....maybe).
Already think he's done enough to steal minutes from Mason and to an extent Bogans.
( Which doesn't say much)
In all I think he has the potential to be a stud off the bench. Like the kid![]()
I like the Marcus Williams comparison, he reminds me of a more athletic and confident version of him, as you said..part of the reason the Spurs are probably high on him..
As poorly as Mason is struggling with his 3-pt shot, combined with his shoddy defense and poor ball-handling, it would make sense for Temple to get minutes ahead of Mason. However, I just know that wont happen.
we still hold his rights correct?
so whats the expected salary he get next season if we sign him to? minimum non teed?

I believe he is already signed through next season with an unguaranteed minimum deal.
Correct. Hairston, Gee, Jerrells and Temple all have small contracts that extend through next year. Gee, Jerrells and Temple are all unguaranteed but Hairston might be guaranteed (unlikely). Still, it's a nice stable of young talent to look at over the summer. If they work out they're cheap, if they don't then they're easily expendable.
according to shamsports hariston has a unguaranteed $854,389 make good contract for next year. Jerrells, Gee, Temple have $762,195 make good contracts. I believe if they make the team next year they become guaranteed. Spots opening up from the loss of Mason, Bonner, Finley and Bogans next year I think 2-3 have a good chance to make the roster.
