Not necessarily the place for this, but since you mentioned it...RJ potentially opting out shouldn't be viewed as a reason to be excited.

Because of the Manu extension, RJ opting out would put the Spurs only about $5M under the cap. So, they'd have $5M to get an RJ replacement AND bring Splitter over.

RJ opting in means the Spurs get a mid-level exception (roughly $5M) to go after Splitter without having to worry about immediately replacing RJ.

As for the other stuff...completely agree!

Funny to hear all the Gordon Hayward mentions here. Draft Express actually has us picking him at the 20 spot in their current Mock Draft. TBH I like what I've read about him quite a bit, though I can't claim any real knowledge since like many I hadn't seen him play up until the le game.

From video I can see he has a very solid shooting stroke, and from what I've read he is a great decision maker, and has a good feel for spacing which leads me to believe he's a high IQ guy. Plus he has impressive rebounding numbers, indicating hustle.

So college basketball aficionados, is it just tournament inspired hype, or would the Spurs be happy to draft him?
Sweet, I really like Hayward tbh

The Spurs could sign and trade Jefferson if he opts out.

Picking before OKC and Portland will be huge in my opinion.

We had a pick before Portland in the Batum year, too. They just jumped over us with Houston's pick.

Damion James in the 1st round, if unavailable, Hayward or George.
Vasquez, Bjelica or Varnado in the 2nd.

Solid pick. Won't be a superstar but won't be a bust either.

For those who'd like another look at Hayward, along with a couple of others, CBS C (152 on Dish) is replaying games as we speak if you want to check him/them out.

Butler-Michigan State's got about 8 minutes left and it's followed by Butler-Duke, West Virginia-Duke and Butler-Michigan State can be seen again at 1am CST.
