symptoms of chokers
Why didn't the Spurs play with more intensity in Game 1? Didn't they know they have to capture HCA in order to win this series? How come Manu Ginobili scored the vast majority of his points by the middle of the third quarter? Doesn't Manu understand this is the playoffs? How come Duncan couldn't bring them back when they were down 13? Doesn't Timmy understand this is the playoffs? How come Richard Jefferson was totally invisible? Didn't he understand the spurs need more than 1-4 shooting from him?
What does that even mean? What is "God Mode?" Who are all these people that said Dirk would never have a less than excellent game in the playoffs?I thought Dirk went into God-Mode all playoffs long?
And the Spurs were a paragon of excellence and consistency throughout the regular season and never had issues of their own not playing up to their capabilities. I disputed your prediction that the Spurs would win the series - I forget where I said Dallas would sweep and put the pedal to the metal in winning all games by 20+ points. They constantly scoffed my prediction that this team would play just as inconsistently in the playoffs as they did during the regular season
symptoms of chokers
don't get down mav crew. I told you fools this series is going 7 games. show some backbone
good post. tell us what it's been like losing to these "chokers".
My prediction is Mavs in 7. I'm realistic, but also optimistic. Mono is doing his "I hate my team" schtick. I didn't talk and crow after G1, I'm not cutting wrists after last night.
Spurs fans after G1: "We're gonna lose the series if we keep playing like that."
Mavs fans after G2: "We're gonna lose the series if we keep playing like that."
BTW mavfan if you wanna put blame on someone I would point at 2 es called Erika and Brenda:
Erika & Brenda: 2pts 5rbs
Tim Duncan: 25pts 17rbs
Bully, Fin, bully for you. A stand in the middle of a massacre. Ain't nothin' wrong with that.
Can one imagine the hammer & tong, hue & cry that will transpire over the next 4 games in order to get to Fin's deliverance at 7?
I God's.
Yep - G1 they combined for 15/18 to Timmy's 27/8. Yesterday it was 2/15 to Timmy's 25/17. Not gonna cut it. They're not going to win their matchup against Duncan but they have to keep it close.
Someone found his way home.
I know Dampier had a terrible first half, but he's the better option for guarding Duncan in crunch time than Haywood.
Cully, you can really be a , but posts like these exonerate you. "Hue & Cry"? Priceless.![]()
Who has been silent?? I said along this was an evenly matched series and the Spurs could easily win....there is no difference b/w the 2nd seed and the 8th this year...just like 3 games which means nothing lol
![]()
you tell me you know more about losing than me
yeah, it's depressing. what's it like losing to that team of chokers?
I don't know it looks like the Spurs won last night
oh, you're only talking about last night.
how did it feel watching the spurs choke in game 1?
Just goes to show typical Mav fan has about as much heart as their team does. Not a one of you were even logged into ST after a certain point. I think it was the funniest thing I have ever seen.![]()
i'm never online during a game.
sorry you wasted all that time looking.
if you want to rewrite history then go ahead. Everybody knows the Spurs Big 3 showed up in Game 1, their undoing was the role players not stepping up and helping. The Spurs key players kept showing up game 2, the Mavs key players decided to take the night off.
If you want me to go back and find every damn one of your posts where you talk about how a regular season loss to the Timberwolves doesn't mean because the Mavs won't play that listless in the playoffs, I will. I got time brah, and I'll need a load of time to dig every single one of them up cuz there's so many.
The Spurs Big Three MOST certainly did not show up in the fourth quarter of Game 1. They had those guys contained when Dallas broke the game open. Do you remember that or were you watching Project Runway at the time?
So a 1-1 series tie vindicates your claim that the Mavs are definitely going to lose in 6? I don't recall where I said the Mavs would roll the Spurs in 4. You will need the time to find that post.If you want me to go back and find every damn one of your posts where you talk about how a regular season loss to the Timberwolves doesn't mean because the Mavs won't play that listless in the playoffs, I will. If you want to talk about regular-season behavior continuing over to the playoffs, Jefferson and the entire supporting cast sucked in Game 1. Are they going to step up and play balls to the wall for every game in this series?
You said Spurs in 6, I said Mavs in 7. We'll see who is right.
You keep using the Spurs to justify what the Mavericks do. I don't give a about the Spurs or how they trend. I give a about the Mavericks. All season long I saw a team play inconsistent as , and a good portion of the time underachieve greatly. I saw lazy defense and lazy offense.
I said that trend would continue in the playoffs. You said the Mavs would step it up. So far I'd say the trend has continued.
yes but haywood contests layups and rotates better and also is a bit more offensively sound than damp. So it was more pick ur poison type deal.
Also i thought carlile was pretty brave keeping haywood out there.... in that strech .. but i guess he wanted to see what haywood gives him. I think he knows now. Both coaches are willing to trust their team even at the expense of giving up games to find out what they have/dont have.
What the Spurs do and how they trend is relevant because the Mavs aren't playing against traffic cones set up on the court. The Spurs dropped turds alongside turning in some dominant performances in the regular season. And whaddaya know, they've done exactly that so far in the playoffs.
Also, I don't recall where I said the Mavs would become a 48 minutes a night juggernaut in the playoffs and roll the Spurs in a sweep. Can you find that post for me?
What trend was that? You said that the Mavs are front-runners who pack it in and quit when they face adversity. I don't give a about moral victories, but they cut an 11-pt lead to 1 in the first half and a 20-pt lead to 5 in the second half before being out-executed (Duncan shot 5/6 against Haywood in crunch time when Dampier is the much better option for checking him) down the stretch.I said that trend would continue in the playoffs. You said the Mavs would step it up. So far I'd say the trend has continued
So where is this quitting tendency that has continued in the playoffs? You're not going to win a game where you shoot 36% from the floor, get outrebounded 51-42 and San Antonio shoots 8/15 from three (jump shots).
In G1, Duncan was 7/14 FGAs against Duncan and 5/6 against Haywood. G2 Duncan was 5/6 against Haywood in the clutch. I just think Damp is a better 1-on-1 option.
I like Haywood as a guy who comes in against second units or against Duncan after Timmy has had to bang with Damp and now has to guard Haywood. I don't necessarily like Haywood on the floor guarding Duncan in the final 4-5 minutes of a game.
