2007 finals MVP, 2008 very good year, top 10 in MVP voting, injured this year. Yes, I think if TP is healthy next year he will be better than Rose.

I agree. Rose is a bigger, stronger, more athletic version of Parker, only he's played at or near the level Parker has in recent seasons for less than one full season, yet people have inexplicably already placed him above Parker. Why; because he projects to be better? Unbelievable the lack of respect Parker receives and typical of the impulsive analysis that's become increasingly prevalent in sports in recent years.

Rose is either sixth or seventh, but he's got to do something to get into the top five, even if it's something as simple as maintaining his current level of play for longer than less than one full season.

He's Number 1. I said it first a year ago, and I was right.

I'd trade anybody on the Lakers not named Kobe for him right now.

Going in to next year, there are a bunch of PGs Id pick for my team before Tony Parker.

I get that this is a spur website, so there will be some homer takes, but among non-spurfans TP wouldn't even be mentioned tbh.

I don't think Rose is top-7. Not enough defense/playmaking/game management.

    1. Deron Williams
    2. Chris Paul

    3. Rondo, Nash, Billups
    6. Curry

    7. Westbrook

    8. Parker

I think I'd put Rose in the #9-#13 range.

TP leads the Spurs to 50+ wins in the West last year with Finley and Bonner starting. Rose's best year, this year, he leads the Bulls to 41 & 41............In the East.

Rose's best year has not matched TP's and at best is level with the many of TP's years.

Clearly Rose had a better year this year. He certainly could be better than TP, but don't knock TP without knowing what you are talking about.

This is becoming Mav fans go to line. Come onto a Spurs site, ask a question, then if any Spur fan says something about a Spur, it is a home take. Show me how Rose is better than TP. Show me the numbers.

Crofl suddenly spur fan cares about the regular season record. Rose led his team to a 7 game series against a celtics team that almost beat the finalists. Parker almost got swept by a mavs team that in turn almost got swept by denver.

TP also had Tim Duncan. And Manu for a little over half the year. Roses starting lineup didn't feature big names.

Im just saying, if Rose was better this year in just his 2nd year in the league, I think he will easily be better next year. So its safe to say Rose>Parker. imho.

Rose was better compared to a hurt TP. Not a healthy TP. Given, there is nothing you can do about that, but TP's last few years were all better if not equal to Roses.

Rose could very well end up being better than TP. I just think it is foolish that TP gets so little respect.

Although Rose did not have Duncan, he had solid players around him.

I love how when it's convenient, then Duncan becomes something again. When it's not, he's not.

Going forward, who would you take...

Paul or Williams? I think Paul is slightly better, but Williams is bigger, stronger and probably will be more durable. I'm going with Williams.

Rose or Wall? Obviously Wall has yet to play an NBA game, so it's tough to judge him, but he's supposedly a better version of Rose. Right now I'm undecided.

Rondo or Westbrook? Both athletic freaks, but Rondo is more of a true PG. I'm going with Rondo.

Curry or Jennings? While I think Jennings will be very good, I think he also got over hyped this past season because he's flashy and outspoken. Curry, on the other hand, has already exceeded my expectations and I like his size/skill set better. I'm going with Curry.

I'd take Rondo over any point guard not named Deron Williams or Chris Paul right now. I wasn't a big fan of Rondo for a long time. I thought he was more of a product of the players around him. But last year's playoffs, this past season, and these playoffs have convinced me. He has become the Celtics best player. He won't always be the highest scorer. He won't always run the team perfectly. But he has become a difference maker at both ends. He really is their most important player. He still has a ways to go with his jumper, especially as applied to free throws. But the rest of his game is great. Even when his very good teammates don't play well, he can carry the team. He has evolved into a top 3 PG in the league imo. I don't like anything about the Celtics, but I appreciate Rondo's game.

Nash played great this post-season and it's almost a toss-up between him and Rondo, but I'd go with Rondo because of his all around game and also because of his youth.

So Deron Williams, CP3, Rondo and/or Nash at 3 and 4, and I'd probably place Billups at #5 because of how he runs a team. I think Rose is still developing. He's close though. Right now, at least for me, he's still more a great athlete who plays point guard rather than a great point guard. I think Russell Westbrook has a chance to be in the conversation if he continues to develop like he has. Tony Parker is in the mix with those guys. Great player who can take over games, but still could improve his overall point guard game. Oh yeah forgot, I also like Stephen Curry a lot too. Just don't know if he's in the conversation with the guys I mention above just yet.

That high on Curry? I haven't seen him play much at all, so I'll take your word on it.

We will see next year how this list looks. It is easy to judge guys when they are hurt when there are so many great pg's in the league.

No punk, CP3 is not the best PG as of right now, he had a bad season with injuries so that puts him down to #3.. The list could change next year obviously.. but right now Deron Williams is the best point gaurd
bad season of injuries ... yes

but a bad season? are you serious? since when is putting up 18.7pts, 10.7asst, and 2.1stl while shooting .493 from the field and .409 from 3PT a "bad season"??? son even his numbers while playing injured are better than Williams lol ... before he got hurt he was putting up his usual 20+ and 11+ per game and shooting over .500. the moment he got hurt, the Nash bandwagon came around.
