Many illegal immigrants get accepted to college! I say if they are contributing to society, paying taxes, supporting the community, supporting the economy, not committing serious crimes, it! let them stay!
"What is it"? Seriously?

Mocking an error in typing because you can't frame a coherent argument to support your point of view? Seriously?
Didn't bother to click link. I'm afraid to ask what his major is or was.
agreed 100%.
get the out of America. I am sick of these ing thieves stealing. God damned Mexicans.
All illegals are mexicans? Hmm. Who knew.
If hes smart of enough to get into Harvard, he should have been smart enough to realize that he needs the right the do entation to be here.
Where did I say he should be deported? He's lived here his entire life and gone this long without anyone saying anything, it's not his fault his parents are idiots.
The government simply needs to pick and chose when they decide whether or not an illegal should be deported. You can say it's mean to only accept the illegals who have something to contribute to this country, but that's just how it goes, and that's how it always has gone. Ellis Island wasn't something anyone could get through during the European immigration waives in the early 1900's, immigrants had to check in there for a reason. If the government knew someone had a criminal history in their old country that person woulda been turned around real quick.
So yeah, in this case, the kid should be able to stay, and it only makes sense his family should stay. Yes there are self-motivated kids who don't need their parents for anything but the guy's parents obviously place some value on education, work ethic and improving yourself if they raised a valedictorian who got accepted to Harvard. In this case, these are illegals who truly went to America in search of a better life for their family.
Yes, I'm sure when he was a baby being smuggled into America in his mother's arms, he knowingly made the decision to be an undo ented illegal.
lol dumb bull
Sorrry señor
If he were still a child, I would agree with you, but the day he turned 18, he became responsible for the choices he made. He knowingly registered at a US college without the proper authorization to do so. He had to know the day might come when he would be caught.
you know what's super hilarous, i'd bet the only reason he was detained at the airport was that nobody believed his ass went to Harvard
So wait this kid never thought to find out what hospital he was born in here in America? Wanted to see his birth certificate? I mean o.
Like that conversation never came up. Gives me the feeling that it did and he just didn't say anything after a while
i feel bad for whoever the salutorian of his class was, robbed of being valedictorian by somebody there illegally
did you read the article, he had a mexican passport, he had to get it from somewhere
Well all I'm saying is that, its a shame that he knew this could be a possiblity and he didn't take action. I really do hope everything works out for him. I mean he should stay, but the article makes a good point that it encourages other illegal parents to do the same. Hopefully they won't make an example out of him.
How can you pay taxes as an illegal, and not being guilty of iden y theft, or a similar crime related to using a SS number that's not theirs?
Did you know there are people, victims of such thefts of SS numbers that are now expected to prove they didn't have earn incomes that affect them in one way or another?
This is not a victimless crime, in several ways.
he couldn't do anything, he could only apply for a visa if he wasn't here illegally to begin with
the day he turned 18 he became responsible for what happened when he was a baby? What the do you want him to do, live the life he's always lived, or say, "Gee, I better move back to the country I haven't lived in for 15 years and take responsibility for my actions."
Damn, that sucks. I still think he should've worked this out BEFORE hand. What a story it would have been if he wouldve graduated Harvard and then this came to light?
Cesar Millan (the dog whisperer) was also an illegal (I read his book). Not sure if he came over as a kid with his parents, or as an adult. Another example of "illegal immigrant makes good".
there are hundreds of people who go through the process correctly every year, so should he get a free pass because his parents are idiots and dont want to follow the rules? no, send his ass back with his parents. oh and where is the poll?
