I can't stand Garnett and Pierce, but I did admire the Celtics run this year. They showed a lot of grit, save for Ray Allen's bizarre Finals performance. I would have been OK with another Celtics le.
I'm really sick of the entire PJ/Kobe/MJ narrative. I guess casual fans really lap this stuff up, but I'm ready for someone to turn the page.
The same could be said for our Spurs. We've been stuck in the same rut since '07, and this year that rut got a lot deeper. I don't know how excited I can get about watching another predictable injury-plagued descent into mediocrity. IMO, there's nothing wrong with calling it a day. Who wants to watch Duncan slide into Toronto-era Hakeem?
I wouldn't be heartbroken to see the Spurs turn the page as well.
