Well that's pretty much their MO; just give up and surrender.

Anyone else watching this on Univision???

God one of the broadcasters keeps talking about how horrible the ref is and that Italy doesn't need the help of the ref... It's really pissing me off.

The ref will be checking if Italy's wire transfer went through at halftime.

Don't forget also that Chila is from Paraguay. He wants Italy to lose/tie so Paraguay can win the group.

But the biggest problem is why does FIFA plays this Guatemala ref in an Italy game, when you know Italy loves to work the refs with talking and diving...

Am I the only one who didn't see anything wrong with the officiating?

Seriously, though, it is always like this. Why do people act surprised when it happens again and again? 66', 86', 02', etc, etc.

Man, what do you expect lol. People here always seem to want to put the blame on something else, no matter what the sport/compe ion is

What does it matter? There are always a handful of teams who get boned in every WC.

It's just the way it is and it isn't going to change.

He might be right... but repeating the same over and over and over... seriously, I'll be surprised if he doesn't talk about it every 5 minutes in the second half. It was bad officiating... but he's also doing very bad broadcasting.

And actually, San Marino, where I'm from, is ranked dead last in the FIFA rankings IIRC.

But I do root for Italy.

I agree, mistakes happen in this game.. it's part of the game. The refs don't see what we seen on the replays, so mistakes are going to happen. ing and whining about it isn't going to do anything... we get it, the win is tainted... but ffs get over it.

also the more the broadcaster whines about it, the more the other one starts to join... we're trying to watch the game, not listen to the ing and the whining... it's really ruining it for me.

He's basically a terrible commentator. He's been terrible since the last World Cup. He's got a job because he's controversial and never afraid to talk about anybody.

And again, don't forget Chilavert has a vested interest being that he's from Paraguay... probably the most emblematic Paraguay player ever...

It's true in all sports, though. Once you realize that the officiating will always, and I do mean always, be consistently inconsistent, it makes it much easier to watch.

Reffing has been mostly great this WC. I thought it was miles away from previous compe ions.

But ask New Zealand how they feel...
