I'm not sure why you think it's some kind of conspiracy to say that soccer isn't that popular here. It's not. Those videos show that there are people here who like soccer. Saying that soccer isn't popular in the US doesn't mean that no one in the U.S. likes soccer. Do you see why? I recommend you take a logic course at your local university. It may help you in these type of situations.

That being said, the relative success and publicity that the team is getting this year is definitely helping the popularity of the sport. A lot of people who don't know anything about soccer and don't normally watch it are tuning in. They may start to watch for mostly nationalistic reasons but if the US is successful it might help get a lot of people hooked and slowly become permanent fans.
