Damn
Are you alright ?
I'm alright, but I weep for American authors everywhere.
Well, I read the first three books so STFU. I enjoy reading and I'll read what I damn well please and not think twice what other non-sex having, woman leg sweeping peeps think.![]()
As a matter of fact, I just watched new moon on sunday with my daughters. Family time is family time. Then we played trouble for a little bit. I'll take the teasing and ridicule any day of the week because it is well worth it.
But I am NOT going to go watch the movie....I'll wait for the DVD.
dang, I'm massively disappointed in Joe. I thought he was a cool guy, in an "old fogey" sort of way.
These two series of books have nothing in common. HP is actually well-written. Twilight is crap.
![]()
And I've read lots of crap during my short life. Some of the top selling books are crap to me but apparently somebody loves to read them or they wouldn't be best sellers.
, I know some people who hate Mark Twain and I just don't see how that can be.
Oh, and the HP series is total crap and I couldn't even make it past the first book.
Now you see, I've read every Stephen King book I know of and he is one of my favorite authors but I know many who don't like his one sentence paragraph style of writing and don't like his books at all.
This to me is all about opinion, nothing more, there are many "poorly" written books that I love and you know what, I don't give a damn about a writer's style or not, all that matters to me is if I enjoy reading it. Simple as that. I buy books all the time, discount that is, who are not best sellers but I enjoy reading them.
So if anyone wants to scoff at my reading the Twilight books so be it.
Am I getting defensive?
I'm with you Joe. It doesn't matter to me what others enjoy. I'm not interested in the Twilight movies and I won't read the books because I don't read fiction. But I think most people read for their personal enjoyment and not to have an illuminating literary experience. Folks just gotta bash anything they can to make themselves feel better about their own situations. You wanna pay your own hard earned money to enjoy Twilight? Go for it! I'll use my money for what I like![]()
+1. I too read quite a bit of non-fiction but even then I find some of it ficticious lately. I'm a history nut but sometimes I just like read for the pure enjoyment of it without having to work that hard....
Never seen that picture before![]()
hahahahaha! get 'em blade!
I put forth the motion that all men who get suckered into watching any of these movies get donkey punched literally and all men who read the books get castrated.
Any ayes?
Cut me!!! I've got plenty to spare suckers!!
Exactly how many balls do you HAVE?
Comfortable enough.....saw Kristen Stewart on Letterman last night....I'd bite it!
I've never seen Twilight, it doesn't sound entertaining enough to check out IMO..a lot of people seem really into it though, so it must have some good qualities..
I caught some of the MTV awards a few weeks ago and the Twilight girl was extremely annoying..
I'm a fan of True Blood, and apparently Twilight is like a PG version of it, so it doesn't sound that interesting..
Damn, it looks like I am in the minority, nothing new. And correct me if I am wrong but didn't True Blood ride the popularity of Twilight? I watched a few True Blood episodes then lost interest. Maybe it is because it reminds me of She's All That.
