He's washed up. We already have enough aged vets on the frontcourt we depend on. He would only halt Splitter and Blair's progression.

    I'd rather have Bonner. Seriously.

Yeesh. That's a tough call. They might shoot the same 3pt% in the playoffs.

Idea: no more Shaq to the Spurs threads. What is this... the 4th one in 2 months?

Bonner's a much better defensive player than Shaq.

if splitter doesn't sign for whatever reason i'd take shaq in a minute. he could play the role sheed played this past year (very limited during the regular season, but pretty solid come playoff time). granted there are plenty of quicker and younger guys i'd rather see in a spurs uni, but as a 3rd or 4th big we could do a lot worse.

shaq did show he had something left in that last playoff series. when the whole team seemed to be mailing it in, including lebron, shaq showed up. he was scoring at will and rebounding. not unlike sheed in the postseason this year. all about the moment for guys like shaq and sheed.

13/5/1blk on 51% shooting in the conference finals is pretty stout. he had that 21 pt / 4 block outing...

doesn't shaq still play gasol decently too? gasol only put up 12/8 on 37% shooting against the cavs this year. i couldn't tell you how often shaq was on him, but i remember him taking it upon himself to muscle him up on d.

blair could really develop under duncan and shaq too.

problem is: Shaq as the 4th big just isnt Shaqs style...Especially not with Timmy still beeing the #1 Big! I rather have a lesser player than him beeing unhappy with his role!

btw.: Shaq didnt play very well in the Playoffs! The other teams just refused to defend him, while cheering for him to take the burden...better than LeBron!

Can he do something for a team? Yes! But only if its a team like Memphis, where he suits better, while not beeing able to poisen the locker room (how can you poisen a lockeroom that saw ZBo for the last season?).

I think he will end up with the Clippers...having a good time with Baron while partying with Kobe every evening!

shaq's noticeably mellowed out a bit over the past year or so imo. he just accepted the smallest role of his career and he knows he's a year older. don't think he had any locker room issues either this past season for a change... he was the first to say it's lebron's team. does he still think he can be the missing piece on a contending team? that remains to be seen. whatever he accepts this offseason should shore that up one way or the other.

11.5 / 5.5 / 1.4 / 1.2 are better numbers offensively and defensively than any spurs big put up not named duncan and boston's defense is better than dallas's and phoenix's. there were times in that boston series were he was as unguardable as ever. boston was just too hot offensively and matched every point. i'd say the cavs perimeter defense was as much to blame as any strategy boston employed to let shaq get his. that, and an overall apathetic display from lebron.

I wouldn't mind him here if the price is real good. We already play a halfcourt game and he wouldn't have to play major minutes. He's already taken a backseat to being number 1 on a team. Also his FT shooting is horrible so he would fit right in.

If you choose Bonner over Shaq you should be taken out back and shot.

Take almost all the problems the Spurs had this year and place them into one player. There is Shaq.

    Terrible FT shooting
Torched on the pick n roll
    Traffic cone defense
    Slow
    Lazy
