What the is equal value for a 7'6" who's NBA career is over? If Daryl Morey were some kind of god he woulda traded the 7'6" piece of sh*t before his value tanked.
Morey has had several years to trade him. Any quality GM would know to get rid of a player who can't stay healthy and doesn't care about his NBA career.

I doubt he has the permission of the Rockets owners to trade Yao. For marketing purposes I'm sure the Houston ownership wants to keep him.
Then he should go to a team that doesn't have an ownership group that insists on building around one of the NBA's most selfish players. If he's the god Rocketfan says he is I'm sure he could find another team.
It's not that cut and dried. Ilgauskas had the same kind of foot problems and eventually went on to stay healthy. I don't think it's time to pull the plug on Yao yet. But it's dangerously close to that point.

Ilgauskas' foot problems turned him into a role player who can do nothing other than spot up from mid range. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks, Yao Ming has pulled the plug on himself playing year round ball for his team knowing that his body isn't capable of hat.
Ming when healthy is a 25 and 10 guy. It's the sunk cost conundrum, the Rockets have already invested so much into this guy, money and otherwise, that they want to salvage their investment. One more serious injury though and they'll have to change their strategy.
