Playing the Copa America would help developing USA football, imo.
The MLS won't guarantee releasing players for this. I thought by FIFA rules they had to but I guess not.
When they tried to hire Klinsman as the Nat team coach 4 years ago he declined because of that. I do know the head of US soccer has just said we won't be going to the Copa America but I'm not sure if it was just for this year or for the foreseeable future.

Couldn't agree more. If they bring their A team to the compe ion they'd be facing Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay and Uruguay every two years... THAT is development for the squad right there.
Mexico will stomp USA team from now until our young core is finished.

BTW, the USA has been to Copa America...they managed to get like 1 point in the group stage before being sent home this past one. Also lol at thinking Uruguay is in Brasil's or Argentina's class or that theyre miles ahead of Mexico. You beat Korea and Ghana, calm down bro.
