Dominique Jones attacks relentlessly, its nice to see as a Mavs fan.

Lin seems to have a very high IQ, and is good with his positioning on both ends of the court.

tbh purely based off a few summer league games, I'll take Jones/Lin over Terry/Barea any day.

Jones is bigger, stronger, faster, way better defensively, and attacks the basket. He's not a good long range shooter, but then again neither is Jason Terry. Give me Jones any day.

Lin will have trouble staying in front of anyone on defense, but like you said, he positions himself well. He has alot of really smart moves on both ends that help overcome his lack of athleticism, and I don't see him being a shot hunter like Barea.

Obviously Jones has a roster spot open for him, so hopefully he gets some minutes early in the season to possibly earn a bigger role in the rotation for the rest of the year. I would like to see Lin get a shot too, but I doubt he gets much PT (even in junk time) unless the Mavs find a way to trade Barea.
