What do you guys base on to say that Roy > player "X" in the playoffs? He played only two playoffs series (one and a half really) and lost both.
he had solid numbers the one series he was healthy against the defense of both artest and battier. I'm on my phone so can't post the stats but if I remember correct had a damn good series against houston while shooting a high percentage.. he did lose both series but it was because both the teams he was playing against were better. There is no doubt manu has had the better carreer as of now.. but with all three players healthy today I would take roy then manu and then jj... but there were some games last year that I though manu was comming back to his old self.

Always count on argi fan coming in here slobbing manu>whoever.

The truth is, manu would not last 30 games playing under the strain roy or johnson play as number 1's(the defensive attention and 40+ minutes a game).

I'd take him behind roy in the playoffs though.

    JJ is .

And Roy is? Dude has spent half of his career injured.
Read original post. Injuries don't factor into it. And it's not like Ginobili is an iron-man.

I know, I'm just saying that that's not a big enough sample size to so firmly affirm that Roy > whoever in the playoffs.

Manu's "injury proness" is way overblown, dude has had one serious injury in 15 years as a pro.

And about the consistency issue, this is my thought:

Also, the consistency argument is unfair. It's a lot easier to be "consistent" and put good stats game after game when you're the number one option and know that no matter how you're playing you'll still get your 20 shots and 35/40 minutes.

Right now, right now if playoffs started:

I take Manu with all his championship experience

Roy might be better but this is the playoffs and experience/clutchness counts triple

    JJ is a distant 3rd

Manu, when healthy and motivated, is arguably a top 3 guard in the league. He puts up numbers that rival anyone else at the 2 position, and usually does it with better efficiency.

However, it's obvious that Manu is also fairly streaky and has a habit of taking a lot of 3s if he's feeling it. While many times this is a feast, it can also be a famine.

I'd have to say Manu for the playoffs though, simply because he's better with intangibles than either Roy or JJ at this point in their careers. Manu just makes things happen on a court, and they usually work out extremely well for the team.

Roy is more consistent but Manu definitely has the most intangibles of the 3.
