    Shaq will never be the same player he was in that dominant run of 2001. I knew that in the 2002 series against the Spurs. We had a rookie PG, no David until it didn't matter anymore, and the Lakers still had a tough time putting away a team that they had stomped the year before. Although it was 4-1, each game was hotly contested into the 4th, with the Lakers ultimately sagging on Tim to shut off the scoring. Shaq was noticably laboring and hobbled by "the toe". Take heart Laker fans; he's not your problem any more. Miami will probably be stupid and give him a huge deal, based on thier past poor signings, and then THEY will have to deal with his laziness issues.

    Agreed, Shaq will not be able to get to the level that he was at back in 2001. He was 29 back then, and he's 32 now, on the natural downslide of his career.

    And Miami would be stupid to give him the max, or anything that closely resembles his current contract.

    But I still miss the big guy...
