If you talk to him about it, he might get mad and offended. Might talk about you all over campus. Might even in your food when you're not in the room. It's not going to end well. He's going to be upset that you are taking his "comfort zone" away. People DO get arrested for even being in the same vehicle with someone who has an illegal substance....but LIVING with him? Ha ha ha.
Yeah, try explaining that you live with the guy in a college dorm and you never saw, smelled, or knew about his secrets. ha ha ha. Even if you don't get arrested, there has to be some sort of stain in your academic file, right? Just avoid the trouble, dude.
So you can either :
1) rat him out anonymously and pretend you know nothing about who ratted him out (I would do this),
2) move out, why should you have to do that? Let's say you go to another dorm, and it happens again? that. Be selfish.
3) or get him to move out. This one is too hard.

1. tell him straight up you dont want that in the dorm, and if he continues, then tell him to move or you'll tell the RA. you have to learn how to grab life by the balls and not maneuver around your problems.
Junior in college right now with my own apt.
Funny thing is I went through 3 roommates my freshman year....and never really got to know any of themI already knew some older people from high school that had their own place so I never hung out in the dorm at all and slept there maybe 1 or 2 nights a week.
1. My first roommate was there for about a week then dropped out I guess.
2. Second roommate was kicked out of school I was told. Apparently he was a psychopath who posted that he was gonna shoot somebody on facebook. Weird cause he was pretty cool around me. Last about 2 weeks.
3. Third and final roommate was a cool guy but really shy/never brought girls over. Hardly ever said anything too him.
I pretty much let my roommates do whatever since I was never there. Just as long as they didn't mess with my stuff

Some people don't want to be around illegal activities, such as possession of an illegal substance. It's a very real crime and you can get very real jail time.
OP shouldn't be subjected to this type of decision.

Yeah, it is pretty important to learn that the world doesn't revolve around you and isn't required to bend to your every demand.
Doing the right thing is never easy, but it is the better choice, OP.

you roll with it. unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how look at it), this kind of thing happens a lot in college. the police aren't going to further interrogate you if you claim you didn't know about the weed if they have no reason to believe that you're involved with his .
this is just stupid and you're being overly paranoid. can it happen? sure, but it sure as doesn't happen enough to really think about it.
Does he smoke it inside the dorm? If so, you have every right to be pissed off because you could also get into trouble. Tell him to get his ass outside to a park, away from the school, or to go take a doobie cruise in his car while he blazes. It's a bad idea to smoke on the regular in college dorms(there's always lots of snitches and haters), unless you have a good strategy like Alvarez.
There is probably thousands of college dorms with marijuana in them and nobody gets caught, who knows.
Not a risk I would take though, if you are serious about getting that $$$.

In all seriousness though, it's far from , has potential to do this country way more good than bad. Unfortunately, our population is largely ignorant and participates in groupthink, naturally, like most re ed populations, and it is taking this country way too long (compared to what we are capable of as humans) in discovering this truth.
We find out today if California is finally reaching greatness, or if they are continuing the groupthink and being more on the anti-progressive, bag side like the rest of the country.
