There's a lot of people here that are going to change their tunes (again) once RJ hits a shooting slump. There is no way he's going to keep up 20ppg and 60+% shooting. I knew he'd be better this season, but I still think he's going to average something closer to 14ppg.

I must disagree. I'd say around 17ppg, which is his career average. He'll have bad games no doubt, but hes improved all across the board not just hitting shots. He's in better shape more aggressive by getting to the line, smarter defensivelly. I think he'll get even better, as he gets more comfortable and develops chemistry. You can tell hes got that momentum going.

Oh, I wasn't trying to trash talk. I was probably one of the few people last year that stuck by the RJ trade because I knew he was a better player than the one we were watching. I'm just saying people need to keep their expectations tempered.

Nobody is expecting Jefferson to continue shooting 20 PPG @ 65%. Lebron james can't do that. , Michael Jordan couldn't do it (the FG%). RJ's not always going to be the savior and finish games with 9 points in 45 seconds; 4 consecutive 3 pointers, etc.

What people should be most excited about is the fact that RJ does not look lost in this offense anymore, and he's picked up his overall ability to drive to the basket and finish, get fouled, or both.

I'd be happy with 14ppg as long as he keeps up the aggressiveness.

14ppg and driving the lane being agressive opens up our shooters.

His defense can hopefully raise up a bit as well (it already has compared to last season IMHO). Im not hating on his defense, its good so far, I just think he is capable of better on that end of the floor.

He is playing better than I hoped he did last year at this same time.

The "2nd year as a Spur" is in full effect with RJ.

It's not just the shooting. He's making all the right decisions on offense...when to drive, when to shoot, when to slash, when to pass, when to clear. He just has a much better understanding of the system and his role in it.

The numbers may go down, but nonetheless the light has come on.

I especially like that he did this to the Suns and in Phoenix, no less. This after that arrogant punk Dudley saying (to paraphrase) after the series last season that "We could see it on Jefferson's face, he wanted no part of it, he was scared to shoot".

This was a game they would have lost last season. Especially when the Suns came roaring back from 6 down with 6:11 left and briefly took the lead, the 09-10 Spurs would have rolled over and died. Good to see them regroup, not get discouraged and come through in the clutch. Hopefully we look back on this game as a springboard of sorts.

I just love how RJ responded in this game. He made clutch three-pointers against the Suns team that dared him to shoot just a few months ago. I want a seat in the RJ bandwagon, LOL.

    Big ups to RJ.

I hope this game will "spur" him onto another string of other similiar outings. (pun intended)

The good thing is even RJs misses have looked good this season. They've been either long or short.

And no RJ isn't going to sustain his %. The plus is that b/w Anderson, Hill, and Neal, this team has guys that can pick up the slack.

Yeah, I had forgotten all about that. Dudley was talking even before he got him money.

Now I hope the Spurs meet those punks in the playoffs this year and put them out of their misery.

A lil' payback never hurt nobody.
