Well the way he has played so far should put him in the Bonner camp on this board. But I actually think Bonner is a decent bench player and also think that Hill is a good bench player who just needs the right game to come out.

He really needs to focus on defense this year and let the offense come to him. He is having the same problem that Blair is having they are both pressing to much and really their bread and butter should be focusing on defense, shuting down their man, and rebounding.

I do think the Neal signing has hurt his confidence a little but he needs to get over that and just play.

On the bright side, imagine how deadly this team will be when Hill starts to get things together. We're 8-1 with Hill clearly not playing up to his potential.

No doubt confidence is part of it. Shooting poorly erodes confidence. Now then, why did his shot go south since the start of training camp, when his confidence should be there? Coming off a year that was a real confidence-builder for Hill, why did he lose confidence?
Eh, things happen. Maybe his guppy died (I know how that feels :[ )

As the season rolls along, maybe he'll make adjustments and get rid of the yips.

While I dont deny that hes struggling, Im more focusing on him getting his groove back and how deep this team will be when he inevitably does.

He's running the same plays he did last year, except he isn't as aggressive..while this is a cliche answer, it's the truth..

It's all in his shooting touch and mentality..

His most significant decline has come in his spot-up shooting and p&r play..last year, he was one of the best spot-up shooters in the league, shooting 45%..this season, he's shooting 28% from spotting up..

His p&r shooting has gone down by almost 10%, mostly due to shot selection..

Last year, Hill took 3.1 FGA at the rim..this year, he's averaging 0.8 FGA at the rim, a massive decline..while deferring to Tony Parker has made a difference, it shouldn't even be close to that type of decline..

Defensively, he's actually been a lot better than last year, so I don't have any complaints there..

Based on all this, he needs to attack the rim more for both his scoring and passing, he's clearly being too passive and weak..the decline in FGAs at the rim from last year to this year is pretty huge..

His shooting is just a slump, he'll bounce back IMO..

It seems like he is very passive way more often then not throughout his career as a Spur. I'm beginning to think this isn't going to somehow completely turn around. Beyond just being passive though, it seems like he has no idea how to handle the pick and roll either on offense or defense.

Basically he thinks too much while on the court and yet doesn't come up with very many good ideas unless Pop zaps him with a cattle prod to get him to just play.

Hill definitely needs to enroll in Pop's Summer Camp to Improve Aggressiveness and Decision Making. It did wonders for RJ, but he was never shy about shooting until last year, so who knows.

Most of Hill's problems are in his head. He still lacks some fundamental skills but at the moment he isn't even playing to his strengths. How well this can be corrrected is still a mystery to me.

We got Tony back and playing like he should play so hopefully Hill can bring us 10+ pts and some assists from the bench....

Hill looks like something messed with his confidence, period.

Looks very unsure of himself with everything he's doing out there, not just his shot.
