I agree that Battier trade was bad but then re-signing him to a big contract was even worse. I do not however want to hear a rockets fan complain about any bad trades since they were given Scola for nothing. win some and lose some.

Gay is an above average NBA starter and Battier is a role player. Not sure how you can justify battier being better than Gay..

We never signed him to a ing extension, he's been on the same one since the trade.

Battier fit as the glue guy at that time, better than Gay would have. You would have had McGrady AND Gay both chucking shots, and at least Battier provided defense for a long time, Gay NEVER has. But that's what happens when you build around Brittle McBrittle

The two best point guards in the next draft (really sad, only two legit point guards in the lotto) are not 6'5"

The rockets are your team so I will not disagree with you..But, with Mcgrady now gone it would have been nice to build around Gay. Mcgrady at SG in his prime and Gay at sf sounds pretty damn good to me. just a thought

Nothing wrong with our front line of Yao, Scola, Battier, Miller. It's just soft as mashed potatoes. Which one of those guys tough as nails? We had two tough as nails guys when we took the Lakers to 7 games. Landry and Artest. Now we got mush. Sure they can score but they aren't the type of guys who will mash someone or get teeth knocked out taking a charge from Dirk. What we got now is a finesse front line.

Add to that our scoring finesse guards who don't play a lick of defense and yeah, we got the Rockets of today. Would Melo make a difference? ya cause that guy will take your head off going for the ball.
