Ah yes the days of Purdue, Del Negro, Smith, J.R Reid, etc. Incredible...
Don't forget Dale Ellis and Terry mings! Ellis was automatic from 3 on NBA Live 95.

What's the front page of ESPN and SI.com?

Why, the perils of an 8-7 team that has never stepped onto the court in a playoff game together.

Gotta love hype, and the total lack of it we have/want/need here in San Antonio.
The Florida farce was also front page news at NBA dot com an hour ago.

Yeah, I was in middle school I think back then but I remember jumping up and down when they got 17 wins.
But 95 and 96 didn't end so well.. ing hated the Rockets with a passion back then..

Loved how this thread turned out. :P

I remember going nuts for J.R. Reid anytime he actually made a shot on Live. He usually finished with 2 points and 8 rebounds.

Who???? Just admit that you're lying ducks.
If you were a spurs fan back then, you should have corrected me on Robinson not coming over until 1989 to finish out his service with the NBA.

Admit you didn't become a spurs fan till 2001-2002

“I don’t even notice it,” Popovich said of the streak. “Every game is a game and we don’t even think about it. We’ll lose our share, it will end like every other streak.”

I seem to remember Utah being the biggest obstacle in the Spurs' path in the 90's - 94-98 in particular.

Goes to show how far the Spurs have come along...I remember mocking J.R Reid when I threw down a jam in my backyard on my mini 6 foot hoop and acting like Vinny when I drained a long range shot...

It's w/e.. I became a spurs fan because of the Mr. Robinson's neighborhood program in the early 90's and got hooked immediately.
Got my heart broken many times during that time and 99 was the sweetest championship of them all.. Still is.

90% of this board labeled the Spurs done before the season started becasue they can't think for themselves and believe everything the media says. the media is no different in sports than it is in entertainment or politics. it's something people should be very skeptical of.

I label them as done every single game (since game 4 this year), and so far, we haven't lost..

we're losing to the Mavs and Hornets though...

The Jazz were the ing team I hated the most as a kid....they just always took us out...always. I think I even remember crying as a kid because I wanted the Spurs to beat them so bad... That's why when we took them out in 07' in the WCF's to reach the NBA Finals...It meant a little more to me (Even though it was a completely different team), it was still the Jazz.
