Darko Milicic leads the league in blocks at 2.94 a game. Slowly trying to remove that bust label.

This was a classic trap game: Orlando, Minnesota, Dallas, NO. You add that to the fact that the game was in Minnesota the day before Thanksgiving in freezing temps with a vet laden team and you have all the makings of a group thinking about getting back home asap. The fact that they were able to gut it out says a lot about this team. And make no mistake, the post-McHale T-wolves have made some good moves and seem to be on the right track.
I definitely think they're looking relatively better too. But I'm not sure how they need Wes Johnson, Corey Brewer, Martell Webster and Michael Beasley. Oh well.

I love Splitter too, I hate that Pop doesn't use him enough too, ...

BUT, let's not lie to ourself, even if he is special, he is still a rookie and a contender can't (reasonably) rely on the production of a rookie...

My point was the D in the paint in the only area that scares me despite ou record and the exciting potential of this team (with TP and Manu at 100%, RJ is ok...).

We are going to be ok for 90% of the regular season games, Blair or Splitter will each impress agains some teams, but again, against the Celtics and the Lakers, in a 7 games serie, Doc Rivers or Jackson are gonna take advantage of those match ups...
I disagree on the "he is a rookie" meaning we can't rely on his production. He is a NBA rookie but he is not a rookie BB player. He isn't a 20 years old, he played on a difficult league, he played international ball, he won a lot of trophies and he was one of the best player in Europe.

I don't know if I'm expecting too much but I expect him to be an important factor for this team even in PO.

On top of that what we want from him is Defense and help Duncan in the paint, he is capable to do that if Pop let him the time to develop.

    How high was he drafted?

He looks like a steal for the wolves who have been critisized for their draft choices...

One thing I have noticed with the current team is that no matter what, they find a way to step up in late games situations
Thery find a way to win

Yep. They want to stay undefeated...

They remind me the Celtics two years ago, when they had a long undefeated run to start the season also, there were many games they should have lost but fighted because they wanted to extend that run...

Manu's minutes are a major concern.

    Good grades.

    Weird game.

Positive: The team showed heart and fought its way to a W (wouldn't have been possible last year).

    What worries me: Manu's minutes.
Its the spurs fault this time, this was a team they should have scuttled out of the chute

The minutes, all around, were the players' faults for ing around and not getting it done in regulation. Subtract 5 minutes from all of the principles, and the minutes wouldn't have been bad.

He was picked fifth by the Grizzlies and then traded to the Wolves for the third pick O.J. Mayo. Other players were involved in the trade.

I was pissed when Udoka didn't make a pass to a wide open Bonner behind the arc and instead decides to bomb away himself, with a brick the expected outcome. Udoka is the black hole.

We played very bad but a lot of player had their big moments

TD with that off reb and the pass to RJ huge 3

    Manu with the and 1

    TP with 2 tough Js

    Bonner 3

    Neal FTs

I liked Tiago D in the 2nd half. He did a good job slowing Darko

The Spurs' starting bigs got outscored 54 to 12. (Duncan/Blair vs. Love/Milicic)

To get to the next level the Spurs need Splitter to assimilate fast.

When Bonner gets scored on, no matter how much effort he puts on defense or how effective it was we read in this forum that he can't defend or that he was lucky the other player was missing shots. On the other hand, people scored at will on a Splitter; who was even reluctanct to put his arms up in some plays, and he gets a B? WTF?? Tiago was horrible this match, I can barely remember one good play for him, we should try to be less partial when judging / grading players.

Until I saw the game I thought Beasley was just one of the ugliest players in the league, but now after I finished watching I came to the conclusion that he also is has to be one of the stupidest guys.
