The setting of the series isn't going to determine whether or not the series is successful or even watchable. It's the premise (cowboy-style justice) and the writing and the exposure that will make it or break it. How many of the crime dramas set in NYC are successful because they have anything at all to do with the landmarks like the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building? If the writing is good, it seems that the premise of this series will be successful in any modern "old west" type city.
