I'm pretty sure an injury exception is worth half of the players salary up to the mid level exception. so somewhere around around 5-6 mil for Yao. That's how we signed Ariza last year.i have no clue what we will do with that. i don't even know what the rules around injury exceptions are. i wish we could trade it or something.

Terrible News. I was hoping that he'd have a Zydrunas Illgauskas-type comeback and somehow manage to make something of his career. I think the future holds a return to China to possibly play for a team there since he'll probably feel the need to play even if it isn't at the highest level. Sorry to hear that, Rocket fans...I know the Lakers have a player whom track record of staying healthy is pretty shoddy in its own right.
