I saw a total solar eclipse back about 10 years ago. We were living in Germany and went a little south to check it out.
Was pretty damn cool. Mid day, everything went eerily dark for a while.
In 2017 (August I believe), we'll have a full solar eclipse visible over parts of the United States in the early afternoon. The closest place to see it would be near the Kentucky/Illinois border, though it also passes almost directly over Grand Teton National Park if you want to go watch the shadow creep along from a mountain top.

I heard there will be another two years from now. I hope by then someone has a telescope and a live web cam to share with the Club.
No, the next one is Jan 21, 2019 that will be visible to all of the USA. Those of you in Texas should be able to see the one on Sep 28, 2019, but they aren't as nice near the horizon.

There are two. June and November 2012. The one in June is a partial eclipses. Not total.The one in November is a penumbral, less spectacular yet.
