Yeah, I've always been aware of that. But this season, it's very aggravating. Because there are a lot of great teams in the NBA right now, but the Spurs are humble, and still unbelievable. This world doesn't respect humility, and it's disgusting.
    You are getting ridiculous.

Ask yourself what's important, another championship banner or more TV exposure?
It depends on who you ask. If the teams' value doesn't increase because of another ring, but it does because of national exposure, then Peter Holt might elect for the latter. Of course the canned answer is always the championship. Teams like NY and Houston though are money makers because of exposure (Houston's Yao Ming is a huge draw from China).

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the Heat/Lakers matchup today has a higher rating than the 2007 Finals. Of course the Finals is a series of games, but if it's a ratings bust, it's at least 4 of those.

I want them to win a championship, but it's a business after all is said and done.

Some will argue, rightfully so, that a championship brings with it exposure, and while that's true, the question was a choice between the two.

no I like the NBA because of all the elements -- the talent, the quickness AND the great defense. In high school the defense is horrible but they still miss easy ass layups and wide open shots consistently so it's really hard to have faith in any team or player. (Unless you have a Lebron, Kobe or Duncan in your high school, that is).
You claim that you played. Did you miss wide open layups and "easy ass" shots? If so, they aren't as easy as you make them out to be. I would miss a 3 most of the time, but NBA shooters most often hit if they are left wide open.

It's understandable that you hate everything about school, but don't confuse non-pro sports with ineptness. Fortunately I don't have to choose between the NBA and HS sports. I can watch both. I don't get annoyed at a missed attempt. It's easy to find dirt in a gold mine if that's what you are scouting for. Instead, I look for the signs that the teams are running their offense and defensive schemes. None will be perfect, but that's the level that these guys start getting an idea of positioning and communication on the floor.

Anybody see NBA.com Thursday? When the TNT doubleheader was Magic/Spurs followed by Suns/Heat? NBA.com the whole day had a countdown to the Suns/Heat game, even though that was the second game in the doubleheader.
