The Suns would never cut McDYess and eat the rest of his contract, half of this year and a 50% guarantee on next year, totalling about $6M. Sarver's just too cheap for that.
I agree. I think if we coulf pull off one of those Barry-Thomas type trades, send Dice and number one for G. Hill and then resign Dice later after he gets cut then I would go for it.
Having said that I think the Suns would rather chew glass than do something that might help the Spurs.

Varejao, Ibaka, Gooden etc... triggas all have length and play solid D and rebound well, varejao dat most preferable since dude has finals experience
Quality or even serviceable bigs are in short supply. Spurs don't make mid-season trades, so it seems to many that the best bet would be to develop Splitter for serviceable, limited minutes at least.
And we know how that story is playing out.
Ibaka is going nowhere. Are you re ed? Gooden's next time playing defense will be his first, and we all saw that firsthand two years ago. Been there, done that. Varejao is out for the year.
Blair's rebounding hasn't been bad. 6.5 rpg in just 20 minutes is solid. His rebounding rates are on par with last year and higher than anybody on the Laker front line - the group that this board is most worried about him matching up with.
His defense (while improving) still has some work to be done and he's still learning what offensive tactics he should take in what situations - but his rebounding has not been an issue (overall).
