Detroit sent 4 players the year after they won their championship largely based on them having far and away the league best record. Rip, Chauncey, Rasheed and Big Ben.
http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursna...keep-hill-out/A CASE FOR TIM: With Tim Duncan lagging behind four other Western Conference forwards in the fan All-Star balloting, it’s become clear he’s probably going to need help from the coaches, who select the reserves, if he is to make his 13th consecutive team.
Without tipping his hand, and while also stumping for his own big man, New Orleans coach Monty Williams said Duncan deserves strong consideration.
“With his numbers being down, he still has an impact on the game,” said Williams, who played with Duncan in 1997-98. “You still have to double-team him every night. He’s the best power forward in the history of the game, so it’s hard to keep him off the team.”
Williams said he thinks Hornets center Emeka Okafor also deserves a spot. With apologies to the Clippers’ Blake Griffin and Minnesota’s Kevin Love, two young big men who have made statistical cases for All-Star candidacy, Williams said his votes will likely be skewed toward players on winning teams.
Given the Spurs’ NBA-leading record, Williams would not have a problem if they have three representatives — presumably Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili — in Los Angeles on Feb. 20.
“When you have a record like that, it’s easy to put three guys on it,” Williams said.

manu is a lock. dont know about duncan. the many fowards that can replace duncan so i think it could be tough and i dont think he should make it. for pg's same problem. i wouldnt put parker ahead of paul, williams, or westbrook. thats 3 pg right there that have his spot.
Just because you have the best team, it does not mean you have the best individual players at each position. Given the small number of spots chosen by the coaches, I see Tim and Manu going, but not Tony.
