He should brand his shoes with the Celtics/Lakers head to head Finals series record. What is that now, like 9-3? It's really kind of embarrassing.
Don't kid yourself. The rivalry still exists and it's the only rivalry that has ever really mattered truth be known.

I honestly dunno who to root for... thinking about the Spurs a Laker victory would be more important to me at the same time, with my limited knowledge of Basketball i feel that the Celtics will crush them bad unless Kobe goes 04 on them...

Er... yes it does. The 80's aren't so far away for many Celtics fans.
The only Boston team that doesn't have a true iconic rival is the Pats. (Colts, kinda, but only since Manning/Brady.) Sox have the Yankees, Bruins have the Canadiens, and Celtics have the Lakers.
anybody dismissing this rivalry just doesnt get ball. Yes it was dormant in the 90's .. because both franchise struggled in the post, 80's Jordan era of the NBA.
But talk to any of the former players from the 60's and 80's especially.
Talk to old-time NBA fans ...this rivalry is not manufactured by poximity, trash talk or a few hard fouls. The celts/Lakers have all of that. sure the media fed in to the blue-collar vs showtime stuff ...and now the finesse vs. physical stuff, but this rivalry means something. Funny thing is if KG were smart he would of put up 17-16 ... that is ALL that matters here.

the Celts. They were already hard enough to pull for w/ KG's ridiculous, sideline-taunting antics. And then they just HAD to add Shaq to the mix.
I'd prefer Kobe get his 6th, Terry and Cubes get their 1st, or the Super Friends get their 1st/2nd than Shaq get his coattail-riding 5th.

Plus Rondo is butt ugly, over-hyped for someone who cannot shoot to hit the broad side of a barn, and routinely gets padded assists by the Cs scorers - look it up if you have not heard about that.

If Ray, PP and KG had played together in their prime like the Spurs 3, I guarantee they would have more 'accomplishments'. Also if healthy the Celtics defeat the Spurs in 6 max.
I agree the Celtics would be favored. I think the Celtics. if healthy, would be the favorites over LA and SA. I want all 3 healthy for the playoffs.
