if you can wait it out they usually drop down to $60 every couple of weeks. these IEMs combined with some monster super-tips, and youre set.

Just say no to Bose/Skullcandy/Beats, etc. Some may sound decent, but you can get much better sound for around the same price or less (especially compared to Bose).
If you want the real deal, go with Grado/Sennheiser/Denon/AKG...actually, just check out http://www.head-fi.org and they'll straighten you out.
This is excellent advice. If you're spending ~$200, you should probably go there and see what stuff is out. This kind of gear is really leaping forward now with the world of Mp3s, and companies are always putting out newer, better products, especially in that magic $200 price range.
lol I'm just clowning. I lmao irl when all of the soccer moms rave about Bose headphones/suv factory upgrade speakers.
What source are you using? What music do you listen to? What is your budget?
In general, Sennheisers, AKG, Denon, Shure, and even Pioneers are better than Monster, at least that's what I find.
Monsters are very bass heavy, even overpowering, and the mids and highs are generally not as good as the headphones of similar price range.
I am more of an IEM guy, so if you are opened to those, give me a shout.
