I will get over the Scola fiasco if Matty wins playoff games for us like this...

I was just looking at the Spurs 3s vs Heat... and I can't figure out how a defense can let Bonner wide open on all his 3s.

I'm not a big fan of Bonner - I think his large amount of playing time is counter productive to the strength of good Spurs teams in the past, but his confidence is at an all time high and it's proving to be an important strength of the Spurs 2011.

He's at the point now that it's more likely he'll be this consistent in the playoffs than not. I just hope he's not forced fed minutes at times when he's more of a liablity on defense than him being an asset on offense.
Well put. But im pulling for matty

    M. Bonner 24:19 6-7 6-7 0-0 +26 0 5 5 1 1 1 0 0 0 18

Let's see... 24 minutes, 18 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assist and 6/7 from three. We could really use that against the Lakers, Mavs and Magic

    that's right, I said Magic
Bonner has been great this year behind the arc, but I really think the shooting of Neal and improved shooting of Jefferson and Hill has contributed to his success and vice versa. If Ginobili regains his stroke behind the arc, look out!

I agree about the Magic, I actually think they could take the East.
Their game is so similar to the Spurs. When they get rolling beyond the 3pt line, they can overwhelm you.

Has anyone ever seen Bonner light it up against LA or the Mavs? How about in the palyoffs?

I am still praying he can do this in the playoffs. But my reluctance has always stemmed from his playoff performance. I hope he turns me into a Bonner fan, but I can't do it unless he proves himself in the playoffs.

I'd like nothing more than to eat my words and celebrate the new and improved Red Rocket

He played well and confidently against LA in his one game against them this year. Didn't go insane like against Miami but I think he was 2/3 on 3's and 3/4 overall.

I agree with that. Unlike the last playoff runs we will always have a lot of offensive power on the floor. Defenses may tightened but teams will have some problem to pack the paint AND defend the 3 pt line.
Playoffs or not, if Bonner is wide open he will make his 3s.

    Bonner states 3-point case
    Mike Monroe

He had just made 6 of 7 of his 3-point shots and raised his league-leading long-distance shooting average to a remarkable 51.3 percent. But after Matt Bonner finished a long postgame shower on Friday, he found the path to his locker blocked by a media horde surrounding Tim Duncan.

Scowling, he waited until Duncan was finished answering questions and the reporters had dispersed before settling in for a media scrum of his own.

“You mean you finally want to talk to me?” he said, feigning anger.
