It should be expected.
I laughed at the ESPN music at the top of Sportscenter. It sounded like the Young and the Restless theme (some random soap opera).
The Spurs are the Ultimate fly in BSPN's ointment.
I could not believe the whining and complaining from the East Coast creeps the last time SA was in the finals.
IFRC there were ESPN radio shows trashing the finals matchup (which included LeBron James) when their network (via ABC) depended on ratings for more money. This was not after the finals mind you. No, complaints came from the start of the series.
That would be like going to the Ford dealer and the salesman tells you not to buy an Explorer and go with a Chevy instead.
The whining did not come from one person - it came from many - the s Mike and Mike (boring in the morning), Colon Cowturd, and others.
It would be 1000 times worse if SA made it to the finals this year after all of the hype for other squads.
If you watch the analysis video about the game, Rich Bucher (of all people) is actually really praising the Spurs. I think all these guys are actually torn between the way that makes have a job (The Heat) and the way it's supposed to be (The Spurs). It really came through in Ric Bucher's intervention when he said (paraphrasing) that the Heat being disappointing was a good thing for basketball, no Spurs player being considered for the MVP race yet they kick everybody's ass.
The Spurs just taking care of business... nothing to talk about.
Who cares what they say. I want them to say the spurs shouldnt have made it this far just after they win#5. That would rock.

Frankly, I'd enjoy listening to ESPN's sadness after the Spurs' 5th le, than to hear them praising the Spurs. I enjoy their disappointment and forced remarks about something they'd rather not remark on.

The game was on ESPN and afterward most of the talk was about the Heat. Finally, one of the trio of doofuses said, "Shouldn' we gve the Spur some credit here. They are leading the league, played great, blah blah."
And then one of the trio said, "yeah, they are one of the elite teams like LAL, Boston, and Orlando," and then went right back to ignoring the Spurs.
These Spurs have to be secretly motivated to flip the bird at all the 'experts' who don't give them their due props.
Ugh, ESPN is the worst.
