Interesting pre-game site: Terry Porter interviewing a former coach, Gregg Popovich, for Blazers TV.

I really hope the Spurs learned from the last match up..double Aldridge, don't overplay Andre Miller on the p&r..they had absolutely no strategy against Aldridge in the last matchup, all his shots were open and putbacks/layups..

It's going to be a tough match up either way, Portland is obviously a good team, no Duncan, and the refs are probably going to be ty(they usually are when it's @ Portland)..

Hopefully Splitter plays well against Aldridge, although I expect him to pick up some ty calls early on in the game..

In last 10 meetings vs. Portland, Spurs averaging 88.9 ppg. Haven't topped 100 since a 100-79 win on Dec. 2, 2007.

Worth noting: Blazers haven't topped 100 points vs. Spurs in past six meetings, either.

Pop: "We've had a real tough time against their length. Our pace is going to have to be such that we get a few easy buckets."

And if not? "We better play better defense than we’ve been playing," Pop says.

So who guards LaMarcus Aldridge, Pop? "Tiago Splitter, the Brazilian Flash. He’s going to hold him to six or eight points, I think."

@ Pop. I agree the Spurs will have to play and uptempo game, and maybe even gamble a bit on defense, because on on one against Aldridge isn't going to work. He will torch whoever is guarding him.

If Aldridge is already abusing Splitter then he is going to have a field deal with Bonner as well.

Spurs have more rebounds early than Portland 5 to 3 with Splitter with 3 - but watch Pop yank Tiago within seconds.
