I know Haslem will guard TD. What I meant is that he will dominate Haslem. TD will do the samething he did to Marion, Stoudemire, K-Mart, and Evans. He will measure his shots and just shoot over him with jump hooks, banks shots, and runners.
Haslem might be small but he is strong and active. He will try to fight Duncan to get him out of position. I think he has more committment to defense than Stoudemire had. Mourning could give Duncan problems and might play heavier minutes in this series due to this.

TD is too quick for Mourning or Shaq. But is Tim willing to take the physicality? That's the question, in my opinion. I think he will because this is for all the marbles.

Haslem is strong and quick but he's 6'8, 228 according to NBA.com. That is an undersized PF in my book.

Is he really much better than Stoudemire or K-Mart or Marion for that matter?

Miami does a good job at TEAM defense. They don't give players much room to
operate plus they rotate well on their man. Individually Haslem can't guard Duncan but their will be help and quick rotation to avoid open 3's or try to prevent that. Detroit is not good offensively and San Antonio could completely shut them down plus they might be able to run on Detroit.

We're talking about Tim Duncan. We're not talking about a streaky powerforward who has great play in stretches and is on the verge of s om. We are talking about the player who is possibly the most consistent player in the leauge at this time.

He will have to work harder for his points, and there is no doubt about that, but neither the Heat nor the Pistons will shut Duncan down. He simply is not the type of player whom you can shut down. They may limit him using certain double teams and schemes but that will open up the game for other players and Tim is an excellent passer.

Tim is no stranger to physical play, and I doubt Mourning will consistenly get more calls than Duncan. Regardless of what Spurs fans may think, Duncan gets more than a fair share of calls on both ends of the court and I don't see tha changing all of a sudden in a series versus either of those 2 teams.

The Spurs are better in transition than either of these teams and I expect game one to be a shinning example of that. Whoever comes out of the east will probably be dead tired and mentaly exhausted after a 7 game series with only a few days rest. I hope to see a game where the Spurs jump on them quickly and run them to death.

We'll see though, it should be the best Finals the Spurs have particiapted in and I'm eager to see how it plays out.

I hate to bring back a bad memory but Malone did a good job of shutting Duncan down or containing him.

TD has already faced very good and tough defenders in Kenyon Martin, Marcus Camby and Nene against Denver.

Then he faced very rough and dirty but not exactly "good" defenders in Reggie Evans, Jerome James and Danny Fortson.

He is used to the rough defense Mavsfan, so quit acting like he hasn't faced any this playoff run. What the does a Mavs fan know about defense anyway?

And anyone who watched that series knows that Tim still got good numbers and it opened up a ton of open shots for other shooters. Go ahead and take a look at the shooting percentages of some of our other players.

The same thing holds true for these upcoming finals. Should the Spurs show an inability to hit wide open 18 footers, they are going to lose. Timmy needs some room to do his thing, and if they choose to shut that off with mutiple defenders it will open shots for the guards. So far in these playoffs those shots have been hit.

If the Spurs end up playing Miami and if Van Gundy assigns Haslem to Duncan, TD will feed off that mismatch all day long. Believe me, he'll have to have help because he'll be surely overmatched.

Sense, not that I don't agree with you, but your arguments would be better if you stopped calling other people stupid and/or a moron.

You know I can't help myself...

They act like it, they try to come back with still the same reason and same stupid detail..without noticing the fact that they can't say something back.

Let's just sum it up this way. . .

Tim Duncan -- 2 NBA Finals appearances, 2 NBA Finals MVP trophies.

He'll step it up to an even greater level. No one wants to win in the playoffs more than TD.

Mavs fans probably haven't been paying attention the last few years. I understand the fishing is pretty good in June around _allas.

Malone "held" Tim to 21 points on 48% shooting. It's the shooting and offensive play of the other Spurs that killed us in that series.

I didn't expect Malone or anyone to shut Duncan down but 21 points is not bad.
Mourning might do similar stats to Duncan.

Mourning tries really hard so expect him to bother Duncan a little bit and with the refs letting Mourning get away with stuff. Haslem is a different story and I doubt he will guard Duncan much. Shaq might be forced to guard Duncan which favors San Antonio. Miami is the highest percentage shooting team in the league but that has to do with Wade and Shaq.

What is it you mean when you say the Heat get away with fouls?

    I really don't get this....

Mourning is a veteran and gets alot of respect from refs and allow him to play more physical than younger players. Malone got the same treatment maybe a little more.
