Sure> first of all, I worry about the long layoff and losing our sharpness in the first game due to rust. It has happened before to a lot of clubs. If we lose the first game we lose HC advantage and that might be a big loss against these opponents. Don't underestimate them.
Secondly, we have a weakness that other teams have exploited before. Any time a team blocks out our guards from driving the lane, we are less effective. And if our guards don't adjust or fail to make their jumpers from 15' out to beyond the arc, then we lose. The Lakers simply took away our driving lanes last year and beat us four straight games. And Detroit is a much tougher defensive club than the Lakers IMHO.
Thirdly, if the club players come in with as much overconfidence as some on this site, then we could lose.
Fourth, all it takes is a few calls going the other way in close situations in the last quarter.
All that being said, I think we are the team to beat with our good first five and outstanding depth.
