Unless there is a trade of some sort I do not expect the spurs to draft this kid..
I like Parsons - he has length, can play defense somewhat and can hit the 3 at times. I think a player who's good at lots of things (while not being really great at any one thing) can learn to be solid or even elite at at least one skill. Popovich and crew can teach him defense. If he were to excel at that (somewhere in the area Ronnie Brewer level of D), then the Spurs could really benefit.
Keep the Spurs "model" in mind when thinking about draft picks - a speedy scoring PG, an attacking SG, a defensive (otherwise negligble offensively) SF, shot blocking threat PF who can rebound and score and a defensive center.
We have the PG and SG but lack the other 3 (jury's still out on whether Splitter can be that PF).

Lamar Odom my ass. I believe that's just run-of-the-mill scouting comparision hyperbole. When this kid can pull the ball off the rim, dribble through traffic with the handles of a PG, and take it coast-to-coast, to the rack, let me know.
Honeycutt and Parsons are both rumored to be good shooters, both are good passers with seemingly high BBIQs. The quality that sets Honeycutt way apart is that he's athletic and has the ability to defend. Some think he has the potential to eventually be a lockdown perimeter defender. In my mind, that clearly makes him the better player.
I don't have anything against Parsons. I just don't see the need in adding yet another one-dimensional player, who is also poor defender, to a roster that has too many of the same.
At some point Pop has to quit talking about getting better defensively and start adding players that can be developed toward achieving that end.
God help us all, if that happens. I'm almost ready to "blow a gasket" just thinking of what a mistake that would be. However, I"ll hold off until Thursday.

"Poor man's Lamar Odom" seems pretty descriptive. He certainly doesn't have Odom's strong talent but he does have the same basket of skills. Accurate.
yeah i don't see us taking him with 29, but dude if we had a pick in the early second round I'd be all about this kid. think he will have a solid NBA career.
What kind of player does anyone think will be available at 29? Another Duncan or Robinson?
Think of a 29th pick as DEFENSIVE only. Someone to come in and play the Bruce Bowen role. If he happens to score, great. Bonus really. The 29th pick the Spurs get needs to be somone 6'8" or taller, can play perimeter defense WELL, can guard the PF position in a pinch (whenever Pop wants to play small ball) but most importantly, someone who understands his role and isn't some egotistical player who will want/demand tons of $ in his 2nd contract. Someone who embraces a defensive minded philosophy and wants to be a part of a team for a long time.
Is that Singler? Parsons? Honeycut? Who knows but whoever they pick, they need to fit the description above...

Your predictions failed horribly last year and you were busted in lies several times. So you just keep re-upping that ESPN insider access so you can keep posting predictions from failures like Chad Ford to convince the gnsf's around here that you are something more than a well manufactured troll.

Almost as good of an internets life as Kool-Aid Man has.
So, the discussion about Chandler Parsons has turned into this...two adolescent, school yard, name calling guys trying desperately to validate their opinions about the Spurs.
I must say, some it is fairly entertaining but for the most part, I'd just like to hear what other people think about Parsons and his fit w/ the team.
I'll stop. Just know that everything T2S says that is accompanied by "sources" should be taken very, very lightly.
