It's not about percentages. He needs to shoot when he gets it, and if he defers, he needs to come out. If he shoots even under pressure and does decent, that's ok because the opponent knows he's going to shoot.

At the beginning of the season people ignored him and he was going off on them, his confidence soared and he was dropping buckets 8' outside the arc. They started closing out and he started putting the ball on the floor. Now they don't even close out any more, they just act like they are going to, and get 12' from the guy and he goes all rainman and freaks out. They know he's not shooting well and he's self conscious about it, and second guessing himself. He needs to let it fly just to get them to take him seriously. After that it's all up to the basketball gods.

Even Ime ing Udoka had a pretty damn successful playoff series as a spur, and he was here like 1/4 the time Bonner has been here so far.
