Better take care that your "consolation prize" DWill doesnt steal Dwight away and convince him to join Brooklyn as a FA.
As much as I hate the Orlando Tragic FO (lol 2nd highest payroll in the NBA and your 2nd best player is Nate Robinson 2.0) there's just no way in they'd trade with the Lakers. It'd be a PR nightmare after that Shaq fiasco and losing to them in the Finals not too long ago.
If Dwight goes out West he should consider the Mavs tbh

I hear ya, on not wanting to trade with Lakers. But Lakers have made trades with them (owners have good rapport) ...
Going to the mavs for what ... Tyson Chandler? Lakers have contracts and assets what would Mavs trade?
What makes you actually believe this? Just because he isn't stupid enough to come out and say: "Yes, I am going to leave this team because they aren't going anywhere soon and I don't want to waste the best years of my career on first round exits" doesn't mean he wants to stay there.
Howard wants out, and he's going to get his wish, whether it's through a trade or free agency is yet to be seen. Still, one can all but guarantee he won't be wearing an Orlando uniform in 2012-2013.
Dwill not staying and if he does and LOL Lopez for Dwight?
free capspace?
DWill
Dwight as FA
B.Lopez + 2011 draft pickor 2012 lottery pick + expirings for another allstar SG/SF
And they have at least their 2.5 superbestfriends...
Even if there was good rapport it'd still be a huge PR nightmare for them but anything's possible I suppose.
I was just talking out of my ass about the Mavs since the thought of a Dirk and Dwight combination iseven if Dirk's getting old.
But the Mavs would throw in money, picks, Roddy (), expirings, and just about anyone on the roster for Dwight. And imo the Mavs would be more willing than the Lakers to take on some of the Tragic contracts.
Mavs are going to make A Finals run no way, cube's blows that up.
Sorry, adding Dwight to Dirk is no no way blowing it up.
"Magic President of Basketball Operations Otis Smith said in published reports earlier this year that he planned to offer Howard a contract this summer."

Also, he would probably make a lot more money signing an extension in the summer before the lockout.
Oh I think there is no doubt Howard's going to walk. Everyone but some Magic homers have come to that realization
Magic have a good history of drafting. A trade will make them a mid range drafting team so they will be stuck in the same mediocrity they are now
