Duncan can't guard anyone these days.

Kobe being in this team all the time is such a joke. He's barely even an average defender.

Chandler's defense is really overrated. He is a great team defender, great help defender, great weak side shot blocker, mobile so he can guard away from the basket, can guard in the face up, pick and roll, etc..........

BUT, his low post man defense is atrocious. It is basically a zero and totally non-existent.

Chris Paul isn't a good defender at all. All he does is get steals basically. He's average on defense, at best.

It just shows how stupid most NBA coaches really are when you see these types of awards.
His post defense isn't that bad, its average at worst for a player of his size IMO.

How is it possible that Allen could be fourth in DPOY voting, yet finish behind Bryant on the All-defensive teams? I realize there's less compe ion from perimeter players than bigs, but why is Bryant making it off of reputation and Duncan isn't? At least Duncan is still amongst the best big defenders in the league. Bryant doesn't rank amongst perimeter players.

Except for the last sentence everything you posted is pretty much common knowledge. NBA coaches get caught in the reputation game just like us fans or how else do you explain Kobe making the All-Defensive first-team nine times. Also, bull that Duncan can't defend anyone. He's still a quality defender but time, injury and a loss of focus on defense by his teammates and coaches has hurt him. Put him on Chicago, Miami, Boston, Los Angeles, Dallas or New Orleans and he'd excel.
