Lots of athletic and talented PG/SG/SF back then... Pippen, T-Mac, Hill, Iverson, Manu, Carter, Marbury... and I'm sure I'm missing a few...

T-Mac and Durant are similar players. Durant a few inches taller, T-Mac a better athlete.

Price and Nash are similar while Paul and Stockton are similar.

Physically Durant is similar to a young KG, but his game is similar to Glen Rice.

Rose and Marbury have been established.

Lebron's game is similar to Pippen, but physically he reminds me of a young Shawn Kemp.

Still haven't figured out who Wade reminds me of.

Paul is a lot more like KJ than Stockton IMO. Both guys when healthy early on in their careers averaged close to or over 20 PPG and 10 APG and were extremely quick off the dribble until injuries made them much lesser players and changed the way they play.

"Vince Carter Early" was closest to Jordan.
Kobe's version is more like the "after he retired and came back Jordan".

    Who said Bean was close?

There's never ever been any inference of MJ NOT BEING THE SOLE LEADER.

With Bean...he's Robin. When he's Batman, he's like that 60's version starring Adam West. We clown him too.

where in the can I get some Bat Shark repellant ???

Adam West was a pimp and still is a pimp on Family Guy.

Durant - Grant Hill - no question

Wade - Penny - beasts and possible Jordan successors derailed by injury

Rose - Marbury - yeah, sure, why not... or maybe Payton with nowhere near the defense or at ude

    James - Pippen

Dwight - Rodman - both physical freaks, defensive-minded, had issues with the mental side of the game, offensively-limited

Wade's the closest player this era to Jordan in playing style. I don't think there's anyone in the 90s close to LeBron, though Dr. J would be a good comparison for the 80s. Same with Durant; Ice would be a good comparison for 80s players. Bryant's pretty tough to find someone similar to in the 90s. Jordan is off the table because Kobe's game is more based on the jump shot than just bulling to the rim like Michael did. Maybe a better Drexler?

I disagree with the Ewing-Howard comparison... Ewing had great range on his jumper and got lots of points outside, while Howard's work is done almost exclusively 8 feet and in. Howard is more Shaq Jr than Patrick. I'd add that Blake Griffin looks like a young Karl Malone; by that I mean Malone when he played mostly in the post and not on the P&R.

Chris Paul just screams Isaiah when I watch him, though I have never seen Paul get on the hot streaks that Thomas could bust out.

Hmmmm. After the post by KOrton, I'd say Grant Hill and LeBron are closer comparisons than Durant and Grant Hill. Grant was a bit of a do-it-all-er. I'd still stick with Wade and Penny, Rose and Marbury or maybe a neutered Payton and Howard and Rodman. If Rodman had a few more inches and was better in the post they'd be twins.

I have no idea who to compare Durant to. His length and jumper make it tough. Maybe a less aggressive Wilkins with a sweeter stroke?

Penny was charmin-soft in a way no one could ever accuse Wade of being. Hardaway became a pouting when Shaq walked to LA. Hardaway is more the 90s version of Vince Carter. I still can't believe dude was on the injured list, played the all-star game, and then went right back on the injured list again.

Kobe's definitely close now to that 2000's Jordan, I gotta admit.

    I'll take a stab.

Wade - agree with whoever said that he might be closer to Jordan than Kobe is. At least in terms of resembling Jordan's game. But maybe Stackhouse?

LeBron - definitely agree with Grant Hill.

Rose - also agree with Marbury, extremely similar in terms of size, athleticism, and scoring ability.

Durant - really tough one. Maybe Glen Rice? Not really a guy in the 90s who has the same type game. Both Rice and Glenn Robinson aren't nearly as tall and long.

LOL posters that cant answer the question without Kobe on the brain ...

thing is Kobe is gone at his earliest since 2007. In fact, I am almost going to enjoy hearing less a bout Kobe. I know you guys will enjoy a WCF/finals without them "gushing" over Kobe. There are plenty of Kobe bash threads why dont we stop talking about him? che already said he is not top 20 no need for sticky. I dont agree on top 20 but he is no longer top 5 and is holding on to top 10 for dear life. Bash him all you want but when talking the best players right now or MJ and the playoffs ...why is Kobe so relevant? he is watching at home, on TV just like us ...

Danny Manning is a decent match for Durant. Both with similar builds (Manning was a little bigger) and skill sets. Durant is a better pure scorer.

    This.

    There isn't anyone like LeBron.He's a mix between Magic/Pippen/Dr J/MJ.

    Same for Durant tbh.

Like there isn't anyone like Olajuwon or Robinson today

Wade is the closest player to Jordan today.

But JORDAN was clearly the best player of the league.Today that's not clear.Maybe LeBron in my opinion but it's not so clear.
