I remember when AIDs first hit they said only 30% of the cases would evolve from HIV to AIDs. Maybe there was a shred of truth to that and not just a balm to curb the hysteria of the times.

That's pretty low if the percentage is correct. I thought it would be much higher. There was a co-worker of mine that had HIV for nearly 10 years and when his C-D4 count got lower than 300 had to retire and lasted another 2 years befoer perishing. Still a problem with 600k deaths in the U.S. amongst the million dead around the world. But, perhaps status and affluence plays a big role in Johnson surviving this long.

I think the Mavs window closes next season. Their best chance to win that championship is now. Next season is going to be difficult, assuming that there is a next season.

has he declined? of course. these aren't 24 year old legs but so long as he's serviceable (you can counter as to what defines "serviceable") and he has the supporting cast around him they are more than strong contenders. I don't see why they wont be the second favorites team in the west next season and top 3 to still win it all providing of course they get a decent pg.

NBA fan is counting chickens way before the eggs hatch here and I am quite convinced you have all convinced yourselves of this knowing very well that L.A. is going to be a very strong contender next year. The ones with decent b-ball knowledge know this.
