Exactly.
Why would you trade with the Cavs for the 4th pick when you can trade with LA for the 43rd. Makes no sense.
I'm not sure I would even make this trade if it was Gay for the #1. With this draft, you have to offer up much more, even if it's the #1 pick. This draft is TERRIBLE.

I was thinking the same as well and despite Baron's contract, Cavs have cap space ...
I doubt Irving will be better than Gay, but he is younger and cheaper ...
IF gizz was offered #1 pick they could draft Williams
PG Conley
SG ?????
SF Williams
PF Zbo
C Gasol
PF Arthur
SF Battier
Shedding Gay's contract might allow them to keep Gasol, Battier and Mayo ...
It's the LeBron trade exception that makes this possible. That trade exception will be big enough to absorb Gay's contract anytime between now and June 30th.
According to an NBA press release Rudy Gay will now be known as Rudy sexual American, from now on.

It would be pretty nice of Lebron to allow the Cavs to get a good player in Rudy Gay, instead of nothing, tbh..
perfectly said...kind of a disappointing year, most likely..unless we get a diamond in the rough.
I'm not sure they want Mayo either though. The Grizz were actively shopping Mayo before Gay went down (). With Gay coming back, keeping Mayo might not be in the cards. But he's much cheaper than Gay at this point, and Mayo hit some big time shots this year.
