Mavs will be in every game IMO. Their offense is too good (which I still struggle to see how exactly when they have like 3 guys who can make layups) and MIA is prone to bouts of low energy and bad offense. When you combine that with Dallas's amped up defense and rebounding, to me I see a lot of close games and it coming down to the final few minutes in most games.
I've been here what, two years? Yep, 2 years & Deepy finally finds clarity in a post.

Were going to find out who the better team is very shortly.

What we already know is that plenty here will give up on their team prior to the end of the series and plenty more will not post again. There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

That alone is worth the price of admission.

Dallas fans have been around since the last Finals appearance. We stuck around for the Golden State fiasco, and ever since. Miami fans are the ones who showed up for one summer in 06, then promptly disappeared again until last July.

The Miami fellows have no trail of tears, no denial, no suffering, no expectation. They bought their opportunity. It wasn't "earned" so to speak. So, they're not vested at loss, and only superficially at victory.

Dallas folk are all in, eyes closed tightly, their hearts shattered, incapable of recovery. They too bought opportunity, but, it did not take. Now that opportunity has been filtered & is pure.

Victory will not heal them. It will deliver them.

But their is no soul to their base. James is a tragic specimen at examination, but, his tragedy & wounds rests in northeastern Ohio, not in southern Florida. The Miami fellows can't avail themselves of his calamity. I could meld with Artest because he came to us, as an epiphany, in a shower room, imploring Bryant that he could, himself, conquer & slay "our" foes, for Bryant in the micro and for us in macro. This is akin to what Vuj brought to us & what we lost with his exile to New Jersey. He won not for himself, but, for Bryant most importantly, and for the Lakers at default.

James came to Florida, not for these Miami fellows here, not to save them, but, to save himself.

& the Miami fellows know it.

^You & C R are the only ones of import who will stay at loss.

Even the ones who landed here last Summer when James went to Florida haven't returned now when you're on the edge of it.

It's a shallow base, both in number & intensity. It's understandable though. You have no heritage, no past. You rang under infamous cir stances last time, but, rang nonetheless. There is no residual heart beat from that ringage. It exists in a vacuum, which now renders this campaign in dubious light.

Riley, not James, should be your catalyst, your hero, your treasure, but, he is not. He is the Prince of ing darkness for the Mavs. It'll be Riley who defeats the Mavs if they are to be defeated by the Heat.

Pretty good post tbh. And I agree, James came to Miami to save himself. That's why I think regardless of how good James is this year ir even if he takes that Finals MVp home, this will and will always be Wades team. Now 2-3 yrs from now and that may change.

dallas gonna be the underdog no doubt but you can hardly say they don't have a chance. miami have superior talents while the mavs team chemistry seems to be a bit better, it'll pretty much depend on coach's strategy imho and i believe RC will outwit dat philli in that regard

I would love to see the heartbreak on the faces of Heat fans if the Mavs win the championship. It would be an awesome sight to see. Sorry, but the Heat ripped the hearts out of every Mavs fan alive. I have no sympathy or compassion for the Heat or their fans. Until you suffer what Mavs fans suffered in 2006, shut the up.

If a fire broke out that killed all of the Heat players, coaches, staff and fans I guess I'd feel sorry for a couple seconds. But I'd be alright. I'd get over it.
