Hold on son, Melo is in your top 5 yet your reason for leaving Dirk out is he isn't a defender? If that's the case, Kobe shouldn't be #1 considering how much his defense has fallen off (lol making 1st team all D)

Kobe's defense has obviously fallen off from a decline in his athleticism but he is still a great 1 on 1 defender and when he exerts effort is still an elite defender overall. Unlike Wade, or James... Kobe was actually a lockdown defender in his career who didn't just rely on athleticism and steals/blocks to be considered a good defender.

And obviously, I know Kobe getting the 1st team all D award is bs, ESPECIALLY when it's a regular season reward where Kobe doesn't put much effort into D except on a couple of plays again.

Wade and LeBron are very good defender even if one doesn't count all the blocks and steals.

I love how Skip always bashes Lebron for going to play with Wade in Miami. But that anaolgy is re ed to his point that Lebron felt he needed tons of help to win rings. Wade who Skip loves felt the exact same way. He told the Heat, "get me Bosh and my buddy Lebron or i am going to Chicago".. So Wade at 29 knew damn well he needed loads of help the next 4 or 5 years to win another ring or 2..

I used evidence to back up my claims. What did you do?
I showed you, with your evidence btw, that shooting % is just one aspect of what makes a closer and that Wade was the better closer on the team when it really matters. Still going to argue for Bron are ya?

It's like you purposefully try to ignore everything I posted and focus on one thing. For the millionth time, I provided more evidence that just shooting.

You can keep pretending that that was my entire argument, but I won't take you seriously.

and that Wade was the better closer on the team when it really matters. Still going to argue for Bron are ya?
I'll admit that LeBron choked in the Finals. That's undeniable. However, are you saying that the Conference Finals didn't matter? Last time I checked, teams had to win in the Conference Finals to advance to the Finals.

at Kobe, Durant, Anthony, Randolph, and Rose being better than LeBron right now.
+1. Kobe is still good but not at LeBron's level right now. Z-Bo I think is going to come back down to earth next year. Carmelo is...well Carmelo. Durant ad Rose are the only 2 you might be able to argue....

Dirk carried the mavs throughout the entire playoffs.

Wade being the last black hope

and before anyone says Wade had no help.

He had the most gifted individual in the league next to him. How about making a play for him Dwayne??

Dirk may have been the best player in the playoffs this year, but Lebron and Wade are still better basketball players than him, IMO. Kobe is arguable as well, him and Dirk are interchangable IMO.

the playoffs are when it matters. And 4th quarters are even more important. Dirk leaves everyone in the dust in the 4ths.

    my vote is for Dirk

Those to me are shoe in. And yes, I said in the All-NBA team thread that Durant getting first team over Dirk was scandalous, even with Dirk's injury.
    .
How? Isn't it for the regular season? Durant destroyed him in the regular season.

Also, Dirk s all over Kobe. That should have been obvious by his less talented team sweeping Kobe out of the playoffs.

how are lebron and wade better than dirk whenever dirk just kicked both their asses? better at what, speed, athleticism, dunking??? dirk is better at having the biggest overall impact for his team whenever he's one the floor. dirk makes more good things happen than anyone else at this point in time. dirk has gotta be #1, at least for this short time.
    Pierce > Dirk
