I think verlander also admitted that he was strictly seeing it in a pitchers pov.
Completely sick of Socias handling of Weaver.
Yet another game where he has to pitch a 9 inning shutout to maybe win, down 3-1 in the 5th of what is obviously going to be another nuttless Angels batting performance.

Double, walk, walk. Gee Socia, ya think Weaver just doesn't have it today?
Leaves him in for two more homers. Yeah, lets throw this game while shooting Weavers era to crap.

Ya. Intelligent MLB viewers know as good as Weavers stats are they could be much better sans Sciosa/average Angels teams. No doubt Weaver would have sprung a bidding war between the usuals (Skunkies and BoSox) as well as the newbie big spender Phillies and other annual contenders (Braves).

I'm surmising Weaver likes living in SoCal fulltime and said take the bird in hand cashe.

    7 innings 0 runs allowed.
For the 17th time this season Weaves has allowed 1 earned run or less. (Hurled shutout ball 7Xs.)
Most def tied with Verlander for quality starts.
Would be wayy ahead in era if Sciosa hadn't numb nutted his suspension-upset start

How cool were Weavers comments as to why he ordered BoreAss to settle?

Yes, i agree and i hope MultiSciosa doesn't jack with the rotation.
Machine do you realize not just Weaver but Haren and Santana have also kicked ass in the quality starts stat dept? (4th and 10th).

Get a bat or two going (or have acquired) and the Angels could have led again.

I think you do it now that way the pitchers know if they can do it in the postseason

they need weaver to pitch 2 times in each series

Weaver had no business going on 3 days rest as was proven tonight.

I think it goes without saying that the Cy Young is now JV's.

    In 100+ degree heat.
Not to mention did you see where after he went 6 complete innings and the Angels led 5-4, ass Sciosa leaves him in for the 7th.

    *&^%$ i hate his managing.

Didn't seem to bother Ervin Santana. Why wouldn't you think your team's ace could handle it either?

To me it wasn't about the 3 days rest as much as it was the heat and Weaver's tendency to get frustrated when things don't go his way. His stuff looked fine. Didn't seem like fatigue or arm trouble were issues. Looked more like a mental thing tonight.

That is a possibility of course but tonight was uncharacteristic of Weaver. As Fabs mentioned he wasn't actually too bad until he had to come back out for the 7th inning. I think that is when the fatigue set in for him

And I live in Flint, MI. He is not my team's Ace. Verlander is.

Even if you don't think it was a bad decision to pitch him on 3 days rest you have to think bringing him back for the 7th inning was.

    Of course hindsight and all...

after the double play saved him in the 6th, he should have never come out on the 7th.

Weaver only given up two hits and one run thru 6 vs NY Skunkies.
That should be plenty for Sciosa to figure out a way to lose.

    ^ whatever ChunkyD, whatever ^

Weaver doing 7 innings and giving up only one earned run again.
    Angels win 4-1.
Like the 22nd time this year SuperWeaver has done 6-7 innings and either shut out or held the opponent to one earned.

    6 innings 2 earned.
A substandard Weaver performance, but Scosia was unable to screw it up.
    11-2 over Oriole.
    18-7 / 2.42 era.

of a year for Weaver. IMO, definitely ahead of Sabathia as the 2nd best in the AL.
