LOL: Dallas Just Lost Rudy Fernandez To Spain

So much for this:

"According to a report Tuesday on the Spanish sports website Marca.com, Fernandez has decided not to accept a six-year contract offer with Real Madrid for more than $26 million, meaning he will not return to his home country this season regardless of how long the NBA lockout lasts.

The 6-foot-6 Fernandez will play out the final year of his contract with the Mavs and then, according to the report, decide where he prefers to continue his career."

This was a stupid initial report anyway, and it made no sense.

The contract offered was after this year, where he was going to be an FA anyway. Dallas actually knew this very well, and it made sense in what is their strategy to shed salary in order to become a player for next year's FA class.

The word around the league has been clear for a while now, that Rudy was going to get maybe one more chance, and if he didn't cut it than he was going back to Spain. So the initial report really didn't tell us anything that we didn't already know.
