I love the preamble to the Declaration of Independence too, but what's the cons utional standing of that? Seriously?
"right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness"
That's not US law, it's nothing but vague statements.
The only rights in existence anywhere depend society enforcing/protecting them. God isn't in the picture.

I thought being a hateful bas was protected speech. I guess we'll see. Apparently it's all up for grabs now.
Well is it, BaselineBum? Is it a crime to hate, all by itself?
Oh wow, you were serious? I thought you were just trolling. I'm not sure where you get the idea I would want Christian hate speech legally silenced.
You personally, I don't think so. But there is such a thing as a hate crime.
What's the point of designating hate groups?
Is it just rhetorical, or does the law swing a sword behind it?
Agreed, I've always thought "hate crime" was silly concept. and it's always fun to negate a phrase or concept. what's a "love crime" (rape?)
violence against somebody just because they are not male (wife/girlfriend beating is acceptable to 15% of Americans), not your ethnic group, not your race, not your nationality doesn't need the adjective "hate". It's just a crime (well, not for everybody).
Do you mean government recognition of marriage, or just the ability to choose who we want to spend the rest of our lives with in a formal ceremony?![]()
Krispy Kreme, imo
Don't marriage vows pledge fidelity to your spouse?
