Lol, McNabb is one of the best QB's of all time in his prime, he was the equivalent of what Lebron James was to the Cavs. All the ty talent and terrible coaching he had around him, it was amazing what he did. It was Don that carried Reid, Reid didn't do for Don's career except hold him back from winning multiple super bowls.

Here's what the Eagles' offense looked like with Don:
-Big play offense, the O-line sucks so the QB MUST be able to scramble for the offense to work and have a huge arm, nearly every throw is down field.

-There is almost no rushing game, I think the pass to rush ratio is like 70-30, not really sure.

It's sort of similar to the offense Vick is playing with except there is a running game and they actually have a load of talent on that team. Just think of how many QB's in the NFL have elite scrambling ability and such a powerful/accurate arm.

    -Offense under Garcia/Feeley:
-They actually ran the ball, it went from like 70% passing and 30% rushing to 60% rushing and 40% passing.

-It went from a big play offense to an offense filled with nothing but check down passes, EASY short passes to wide open guys sort of like they'd do with Brady in NE, pretty much any QB could do well in that offense, it was hard NOT to up. The defense also stepped up for whatever reason, they turned it up a notch and carried the Eagles. It was fool's gold of course, because it's almost impossible to win a Superbowl with just a game manager at QB, even a playoff game, that is unless you've got the best defense in football which the Eagles didn't have.

They did the same thing with Kolb when he was with the Eagles, they ran the ball and did a bunch of short passes, they were an average team at best though. The Eagles' O-line flaws were apparent with a QB that couldn't scramble very well which is why he got destroyed by Matthews.

I think Kafka is going to get absolutely destroyed out there. Young has a much better chance because of his scrambling ability but still Young is pretty bad.

Vick has always been an elite QB though, he just never took the game seriously in ATL, it wasn't until after he finished his sentence that he actually matured and worked on his passing more and he's got two deep threats that can score at any time, Reid didn't do for him though lmao.
Way to overrate McNabb. The Cavs didn't win when Lebron went out, the Eagles consistently won without McNabb. As soon as Donovan left Philly he promptly went from the Pro Bowl the previous season to getting benched and cut in favor of the supertalent that is Rex Grossman, and if you watch Eagles games McNabb has always been extremely inaccurate. Vick was a good athlete but no one ever thought of him as a good Qb until Andy got a hold of him. Now some basically three year layoff is the reason he finally learned how to have decent ability as a pocket passer (he's still pretty inaccurate). Like every single QB that plays for Reid exceeds expectations and some fans just look for every reason they can to not give him credit for this. Coming up with sometimes convoluted laughable reasons. er knows Qbs. Most fans in Philly thought Kolb has a mediocre upside btw due to his weak arm, so to get a starter and a second round pick for him was a steal.

Dude took over a 3-13 franchise that was in shambles and has turned it into a veritable NFC East dynasty, making the playoffs in nine of his 12 NFL seasons, including six division les and five conference championship games, not to mention a Super Bowl appearance. They've basically rebuilt their entire roster on the fly and replacing standout player like McNabb, Westbrook, Tra Thomas, Dawkins, Runyan etc. People in Philly (my brother lives there) make him sound like a combo of Barry Switzer and Rich Ko e. Mainly because Philly is a fan base in general. Almost as en led as New York and Boston.

Michael Vick is such a crybaby got. Dude gets more PF calls bailing him out than almost any other QB. It's not the refs' fault that your offensive line is a sieve and you hold onto the ball longer than Drew Bledsoe. STFU

Props to Trent Dilfer for telling it like it is.

Lmao, I watched Don almost his entire career, he was amazing in his prime far from just "decent". Don was playing with pure for almost his entire career, it's no coincidence he took the Eagles to a Superbowl and became the first QB in NFL history to throw for 30 TD's and less than 10 INT's when he finally got T.O. Dude didn't even have a running game to keep pressure off him.

Reid has always been a coach, his playing calling has cost the Eagles dearly, his refusal to establish a running game all those years, even his challenges etc. You're talking about a guy that would pass on 4th and 1 and run on 4th and 6th lmao. Even in the Superbowl Don went on a drive in the 4th Q in which he went something like 7/7 down the field and scored a TD, of course they did NOT manage the clock by you know, actually running the ball (instead Reid had Don throw 51 times lol), thus leaving time on the clock for NE to score once again and win.

This was their offense from '04-08? (07 or 08)

-Undersized WR's and RB's, once Duce left the Eagles had no power RB, and hadn't had a FB since Ritchie after I think '04 in which he retired. After Ritchie retired they threw in some guys from the practice squad to put at FB (lol) and even tried DT Dan Klecko (lmao).

-Thrash, Baskett, G Lewis, C-Lewis, LJ Smith, Brown, Mitc , Pinkston etc. these guys were literally all 4th string guys, the tallest was Baskett/Pinkston at 6'4, EVERYBODY else was 5'11 and under 200lbs, Pinkston was 180lbs.

-The Eagles had Redzone problems ALL those years, I wonder why? I mean it's 3rd and Goal, do you pound it in with your FB...Oh wait you don't have a FB on your roster! So you pound it in with your power RB right? Oh wait, B-West is only 5'8 200lbs, so you throw it up to your massive WR's...oh wait none of them can create separation in the end zone because they're so ing bad and small. T.O was the only time Don got any help in the red zone, LJ Smith had hands of ing stone, one of the worst TE's in the NFL. Go ahead and look up ALL of their stats, they didn't do in the NFL after starting for the Eagles.

The Eagles had one of the worst red zone offenses in the NFL thanks to that yet Reid saw NOTHING wrong with the offense, GREAT coach!

And them winning had NOTHING to do with replacing him with one of the BEST QB's in the NFL lmao. If you watched Philly Don had fallen off considerably in '09 especially towards the end, he was on and off during that season.

And if you even watched the Redskins this year you'd see their defense go from literally the worst in the NFL in both pass and rushing to one of the most dominant. Instead of trying to rush with Portis and LJ which was a total failure they've got a legit RB in Hightower that is tearing it up, and an O-line that is actually playing well instead of like the worst O-line in the NFL.

Oh and if you actually knew what happened you'd have known the ONLY reason Samuel, Peters (highly valued at the time), McCoy, Maclin, Weaver (Formerly Pro-bowl FB), and last but not least Vick are on the Eagles was because Don was fed up with Reid's BS and told him "Get me some weapons or I won't re-sign". If it hadn't been for Don saying that Reid would've followed the same drafting formula he's done year after year after year, an O-Lineman in the first round, a WR in the 5th-7th rounds etc.

D-Jax wasn't even drafted to be a WR either lol, Reid drafted him to become just a KR/PR, it wasn't until Curtis was injured that he actually got a chance to play.

And like I said before, the Eagles won't win without Vick or a QB that can scramble and pass like him. The Eagles weren't going to win with Kolb last year, we all saw him get merked when they finally played a legit defense. They lucked out big time with Vick returning to his former self.

Anyways Vick has a bruise not a broken hand.

Wow, you have one long convoluted, complex explanation there. Its all so carefully constructed to never give Reid any credit. Its amazing the hoops you have to jump through. Must be difficult to keep track of it all.

It's pretty hard to sum up all those years of his BS play calling and decisions in one post. Reid has done sooooo much stupid it is so frustrating, I wish you'd have seen what I saw. I didn't even name half the stupid he's done in Philly, I didn't even address his inability to address the defense which cost the Eagles the most.
