Don't the Lakers still have that 5 mill trade exception from the Sasha trade?
^That's the 5 that trumps the bag's 4.

It's not a point, it's a question. What real fan would want either of those two, let alone both?
Lakers= Fcked
lol this only benefits dallas if teams under cap can bid
the only person on there roster atm is dirk i think.... cubans is going to rebuild with amnesty players
But, DoK guaranteed it wouldn't happen that way.

"hatas gonna hate but we aint going anywhere"
I know you hurting over the Spurs touch lucketh but that's just how it is...listen up carefully Dunkie / Davie...
if a player wants to control the team they go to, then all they need to do is accept a reduced buy-out or retire (forfeit the remainder of their salary). In most cases they will agree to a reduced buy-out; no good player is going to allow himself to be forced to play where he doesn't want to and no smart owner will sign a player that says he doesn't want to play for them. It would be a cancerous situation.. It would be nothing but more money down the drain and yet again another indictment on the owners bad business decisions...You guys don't get it...if a team wants to keep players away from LA by signing them then that's on them but don't expect Baron to play for the SPurs just because they put in a 1 million dollar bid for him. You guys don't quite understand how this works.

All of these rules designed to try and hold to the Lakers back will only backfire in the end. Players will get to the final destination which is home to LA![]()
What kind of a ty player do you have to be for a team to be anxious to pay you millions just to get rid of you?
Your fellow turds have multiple threads about it, and you have to ask?
An expected windfall for NBA contending teams in search of affordable talent could wind up short-circuited by the league's soon-to-be-approved collective-bargaining agreement. The Sun Sentinel confirmed Sunday that instead of players being released under the league's "amnesty" provision going directly to the open market, a bidding system has been put in place for teams operating below the league's salary cap to add such players at a deep discount. "That's what the clause is in there for," a party familiar with the impending process Sunday told the Sun Sentinel. "It's so the Lakers can't go in and scoop up all the players." South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Lakers should exercise this on bag of Kobe and his ty contract tbh.
everything he post is bull
I wonder who Miami is going to go after.
B. Davis would be a significant upgrade for them.
Not so sure I wouldn't amnesty Joel Anthony or mike miller to clear up some more spending.
there arent many teams under the cap. another thing that might play into this is if you bid sure the salary can be cheap but it has to be for the life of the remaining contract. so if you want Roy it wouldnt be a 1 yr test it would be 4 years.
I'm a trend setter.
I set trends.
What team wouldn't take Roy for 4 years at $1-2 million a year? That's a steal for a scorer like him, even if his knees will never be the same, the guy can still score.
I can see teams like Denver loading up their roster with amnesty players. With nearly $30 million is cap space, they can fill out their roster with sveral talented guys. If it really is only teams under the CAP, rahter than under the TAX, there won't be a lot of compe ion for those guys.
Looking over the salary numbers for teams this season, I stand corrected.... there will be PLENTY of compe ion for the amnestied players. Didn't realize there were so many teams under the cap...
Teams with Cap Space this Year: (cap space if all Free agents are renounced)
Charlotte Bobcats: $8million
Cavs: $4 million
Nuggets: $28 million
Pistons: $10 million
Warriors: $14 million
Rockets: $12 million
Pacers: $23 million
Clippers: $12 million
Grizzlies: $5 million
Bucks $8 million
T-Wolves: $14 million
Nets: $17 million
Hornets: $5 million
Thunder: $7 million
Sixers: $4 million
Kings: $30 million
Raptors: $11 million
Jazz: $4 million
Wizards: $17 million
Pacers, Nuggets, and Kings could get a king's ransom from this amnesty crop...
Kings have a lot of potential for make a run if their FO plays it right. Good players, low payroll.
It's possible two amnestied players could end up in L.A. after all.....
...playing for the Clippers, that is....
Although they've "been there, done that" with B.Davis, they might want a guy like Rashard Lewis or Arenas to go alongside Gordon, Blake, and D'Andre Jordan
Arenas
Gordon
R.Lewis
B.Griffin
D.Jordan/Kaman
Pretty solid team, not a contender, but a threat to make the playoffs...
